Heather

"I can't believe you got into Harvard and Yale." Taylor mumbles, sitting on my couch and I laugh.

"Heather's just an overachiever." Julia says, opening the bottle of Rosé and setting it down on the coffee table.

Tonight was a sort of girls night, we planned it for the Sunday night after Valentine's just so we could all talk about what had happened and everything. I made sure to keep it to just me Julia and Taylor, I didn't want a bunch of people I didn't trust to hear about my personal details.

Josh had dropped me off after our romantic weekend and he and a bunch of his friends were going to hang out for a while tonight. He promised me he'd come over afterwards and spend the night.

"Why didn't you say anything?" Taylor asks and I shrug.

"Because I don't want people to think that my dad paid my way in or put in a phone call. I did it on my own and I had the most ridiculous first-world problem......I guess I didn't want to be judged for it." I admit, joining Taylor on the couch. Julia takes the chair and we all sit in the sitting area of my bedroom, pouring out wine into glasses.

"So, you picked Harvard." Julia confirms and I nod.

"I did, I don't know.....I feel like I really worked to get in there, I filled out the application completely alone and I loved the campus when I visited. The best part is Josh is just a quick little car ride away." I add with an embarrassed smile. "It's perfect."

"And your boyfriend is also a genius headed off to M.I.T." Taylor laughs and I nod. "Like I said, the two most perfect people." She sighs, shaking her head and taking a sip from her glass.

"Whatever, we didn't come here to talk about school." I insist. "So.....who wants to go first?" I ask and Julia smiles, setting her cup down.

"Me." She mumbles, cheeks flushing and Taylor and I pass a side glance at each other. As if this was a surprise. "He took me to the Hilton downtown, the fancy one." She whispers and I raise my eyebrows. "We ate at the restaurant in the hotel and it was.....so good."

"Oh yeah? And what else was so good?" Taylor teases and she laughs, looking embarrassed but also excited. Julia was a pretty quiet person, she hadn't had many boyfriends or slept with many people. She seemed innocent, most people were always surprised to learn she wasn't.

"The bed was really big, we made use of all the extra space." She says, wiggling her eyebrows. "We tried a whole bunch of different stuff-"

"Excuse me?" I ask with a laugh, nearly choking on my wine.

"You heard me." She defends, furrowing her eyebrows and I watch her press her lips together. "Then he carried me to the shower and we made some use out of that too."

"So lots of sex?" Taylor asks and she sighs.

"Yeah." She admits with a small laugh. "Too much probably, but he gave me this necklace." She says, fishing it out of her shirt and I smile. "It was pretty romantic all things considered, he's pretty easy to be with."

"That's so cute." I insist and she nods.

I didn't expect anything less for the two of them on Valentine's day, they were sinking into a proper relationship.

"Yeah, this morning he woke me up so we could watch the sunrise together." She whispers, running her fingers through her hair. "Then we......you know, enjoyed the last of our night in bed." She mumbles and I nod. "Then we had breakfast, checked out and he dropped me off here after we spent the afternoon together."
