Josh
I'd never imagined high Heather could be this funny. She was in and out, cracking up over the movie. There wasn't much to her and given that she didn't normally do this, everything seem's to have hit her pretty hard. But what was so worth it was the sated smile on her face, she looked so happy.
I wished so desperately that she could have leaned into my side here but she and I knew pretty well that most people wouldn't be alright with that.
She's been nearly passed out asleep for over an hour, she's missed a huge chunk of time from the second movie, American Pie. The credits start to roll and she cracks her eyes open.
"Good morning." I tease and she sits up slightly.
"Ha-ha." She says. "How long was I out? Is The Hangover already over?" I chuckle a bit and shake my head.
"We just finished watching American Pie, you slept through like ninety percent of it." I tell her and she laughs.
"Sorry, I was tired and I didn't want to fight it." She mumbles looking embarrassed. "What's everyone else's deal?"
"All in and out, laughing and stuff." I tell her. "Those three have been out for ages......and look at that." I whisper, pointing at Katie and Colin. Katie was laying in a ball on her side, one of her arms was down across his chest. He held her hand, his cheek resting on her forearm.
"Well that's cute." She whispers and I nod. "Tell me why the rules are different for us again?" She teases and I sigh.
"I guess they don't have to be." I mumble. "We can always blame it on the pot." She nods and leans over into my side. I smile and slide my arm over her shoulders watching the credits end.
"Was it a good movie?" She asks and I nod.
"It was alright, I've seen it before." I whisper.
We both squint as the light in the garage turns on and I immediately pull my arm off of Heather's shoulders.
"Should we call it a night?" Owen asks and then chuckles a bit looking at Colin and Katie. "Well when they wake up I'll find them somewhere to go, I'll find you guys beds." He says and I sigh, getting up from the couch. Heather's nodding off again so I reach my hands out and pick her up.
"Let's start with sleeping beauty." I tease and Heather laughs over my shoulder.
"Can I sleep with you tonight?" She whispers and I feel my heart stop. "Please, I'll come when everyone else is asleep?"
"I don't know if that's a good idea." I tell her, grabbing her overnight bag and mine off the floor.
"Sounds like a good one." She mumbles and I chuckle.
"Easy." I tell her, walking her to one of the guest rooms. "I'll put you in here, I'm just next door if you need me."
"I need you now." She insists and I shake my head, putting her down on the bed.
"You need some rest, I'll see you in the morning." I whisper and she pouts crossing her arms.
"You're lucky you're cute." She warns and I laugh.
"I thought this was your self-discovery time." I remind her and she shrugs.
"Nothing wrong with staying friendly." She challenges. I smile and lean forward kissing her forehead.
"Goodnight Heather." I whisper and she sighs.
"Goodnight." She sighs. "I'll see you tomorrow." I wave and do the hardest thing possible, I close the door to her room. I didn't want everyone to think that we were together, even if it was just a friendly cuddle.
