"Why would a random person want to kidnap you?" Levi poured me and himself a cup of tea.

"I- I don't know" I stuttered over my words.

"Nothing that you're telling me makes sense" Levi sipped his tea.

We were both sitting at his desk. I hadn't left his office all morning, scared of being left alone.

"Maybe they wanted to hold me for ransom, perhaps they knew that my father was wealthy" I looked to the wall trying to seem genuine.

The truth is. I had a hunch of who that person who tied me up was. But I just didn't know what the repercussions would be for telling Levi about it.

Levi exhaled. He was staring into me, more like through me.

I couldn't look at him in the eyes. I felt so protected by him last night, so safe in his care. But now I felt intimidated once again.

I let out a sharp sigh and took a sip of my tea. It was way too bitter.

"What the fuck..." I couldn't hide my expression. "What, are you trying to poison me?"

"I just might if you keep lying to me about what happened" He mumbled.

I rolled my eyes.

There was some silence that followed. My mind was racing with thoughts. Should I tell him? Should I not? Should I just go straight to Erwin? What do I do in this situation.

"Do..." I broke the silence hesitantly.

I sighed and continued,

"If you guys suspected that I was a traitor what would you do with me" I played with the tea cup in front of me.

Levi's expression changed into confusion. There was a second of silence.

"Y/N...you think we sent someone to kidnap you because we think you're the traitor?" He questioned.

I sighed again. This time more aggressively.

"What would you guys do with someone if you suspect of them, would you guys torture them? Kill them? Even if there's no definitive proof?" I now was looking at him in the eyes.

"Oi, what's making you even ask these questions?" He held his hands up gesturing me to stop.

"Levi. If I was some sort of involved with that situation, would the scouts hurt me?" This time my voice sounded desperate. I was desperate for an answer.

"Y/N..." He whispered.

"Levi! Fuck just answer me!" I shouted at him.

He was stunned. He's confused expression dropped slowly.

"If you tell me what's going on, I promise you I won't let them hurt you..." his voice was cold, but his words were gentle.

I was surprised at his response. It immediately made me feel safe somehow.

I was still hesitant, but I somehow felt like at this moment I didn't have a choice anymore, the words started pouring out of my mouth like a broken faucet.

"The night that Hange's titans got killed, I was out late at night getting some tea....I stumbled into two Cadets, They introduced themselves as Reiner and Bertholdt...."

Levi's eyes slightly got wider, his full attention on me.

"...they were acting suspicious, they seemed nervous and on edge. I didn't want to say anything because I didn't know if I'd be incriminating two innocent scouts. After a while I felt like even if I did say anything, the fact that I had stayed silent for so long would incriminate me..."

"Do you understand how serious the situation is, being quiet in a moment like th-"

"I know" I interrupted Levi before he could finish. "They probably saw me as a loose end, so it makes sense that they would try to take me out"

"Fuck" Levi fell back to his chair.

"The possibility that it's them is high, but I don't have any solid proof" I said while still playing with the tea cup.

Levi seemed to be lost in his own thoughts for a second.

"If Erwin finds all of this out...without any proof you'd be as much of a suspect" Levi brushed his hair back with his fingers.

"That's what I thought..." I replied. "Can't we find some proof before running to Erwin with all of this?"

Levi stood up from his chair slowly, walking over to me. He made his way next to me, I turned to him still sitting down.

I looked up at him curiously.

"I will find proof, you will be staying away from everyone for now" He looked down on me.

Before I could say anything he gently grabbed my hand. He pulled my hand and inspected my wrist, it was completely harmed from the rope. In fact, my whole body was bruised from the events of last night. Everything ached.

"These people clearly want to hurt you, the fact that they didn't follow you to my office tells me one thing..."

I fluttered my eyes, "What does it tell you?"

"They're cowards" He slightly squeezed my wrist.

I let out a small whimper. And forced my wrist away from him.

"You're staying in my room until I get to the bottom of this" He ordered.

"Wait...what?!" I looked over at him, he was now walking back to his chair. "I can't just stay in your room all day what would the others think of that?!"

"Relax brat. If you want to go eat, I go with you. If you want to do your daily activities I'll supervise you from afar" He seemed serious.

"Levi are you insane?! Don't you have stuff to do?!"

"If there's any sort of training I have to attend you'll just have to come with me, just do your reports there" He said completely serious.

"Wouldn't people find it incredibly strange if they just see us together all day?" I asked.

"One of my Cadets used to follow me around because she had a crush on me...if people ask just say you're in love with me" Levi shrugged dismissively.

"You can't be serious..." I started rubbing my temples. Completely stressed with the situation.

Levi took a sip of tea, "If you think we can't handle this on our own, we can always ask Erwin for help..."

I shot him a murderous gaze.

I sighed deeply, trying to asses the situation. Being supervised by Levi would definitely guarantee my safety. I had to admit it. But I just didn't understand how others wouldn't find it completely strange. At the end of the day, would it even matter if people found it weird? It's either this or I'm getting potentially killed.

"Alright" I mumbled. "But I refuse to tell people I have a crush on you, nobody would ever believe that"

Levi raised his eyebrows, "Nobody questioned it when one of my cadets-"

"Pft" I chuckled. "You really think people would believe..." My voice faded off. I strange thought started to appear over my head.

"What? That a girl from Mitras would ever fall in love with someone from my background?" He was now looking away from me, holding his tea cup close to his face.

My face dropped.

What does that even mean?

I thought about continuing the conversation, but I felt the urge to let it go for now.

"I'll do your stupid plan, but I'll tell people that I need to supervise a Captain for my report" I said in a monotoned voice.

"What does that have to do with finances?" He rolled his eyes.

"Nothing, but I doubt people would even question it"
