[ Timeskip: 2 Years Later ]"Twelve thousand for the airship? Will the scouts be using it or you?" I asked while swirling a glass of wine.
Floch sat in front of me, his composure was casual, "That's none of your concern sweetheart"
I rolled my eyes, "It's my money, so yes it is my concern"
"You already know too much" Floch straightened himself up.
I chuckled, "Does that mean you're gonna have to kill me?"
He smiled, "If you go against us, I would"
I took a sip of my drink.
"Although I would hesitate" He poured himself some of my wine.
"Would you?" I questioned him.
"Zeke and Eren seem to genuinely appreciate you helping them..." He explained.
I took another sip.
"...and uh I also appreciate what you're doing for all of us" He his thought.
I thought for a few seconds.
"I was apprehensive in the beginning..." I reminisced on how I got tangled with Zeke's plan.
It was on a sunny day when I received a visit from Eren Jeager. I still remember everything.
He came in. I offered him lunch, he accepted my offer.
"Do you remember that day, under the tree, when I said you should join the scouts?" Eren's voice made me go back to that day. When he was just a kid, so bright, so enthusiastic.
He probably didn't know that I thought of that often, after Levi left me, I realized that I truly was a nobody in the grand scheme of things, I had inherited all the riches from my father, yet did nothing to help. I was no savior, I had no impact.
In a way, Levi leaving made me realize just how much others were doing for the future of Eldia, meanwhile I sat for almost a year just feeling hopeless and sorry for myself.
When Eren told me that he needed me, it was almost as if he knew that I would agree. He asked me to provide support financially, to use my riches to help the scouts, and to move forward with his plan. He didn't tell me what his plan was then, but on his third visit, he told me that I had to trust him and his brother Zeke.
Eren was different now, he was an adult, he was growing his hair out, he grew taller than me. I stopped seeing him as a kid and started looking up to him in a way. He gave me a reason, he gave me the power to make a difference.
Now, three years later, I am the person directly responsible for all the money that is going into the military and the scouts. New weapons, new uniforms, new gadgets, new technology, all funded by me.
I even was taking part in some military meetings, where strategies and financial things were discussed.
I would talk to Hange often.
I didn't really feel like I was betraying her or the scouts by following Zeke's orders, I truly believed that Zeke had a greater plan, whatever it was. And Eren promised to tell me it soon.
Today, Floch, who was someone who I now was constantly dealing with, was in my office. We were discussing the usual; my involvement in their movement.
"I was informed that Zeke needed something else from you" Floch continued.
I raised one eyebrow, "What does he need?"
"He said he wanted to meet with you" Floch responded.
"Meet with me...?" I chuckled, "He wants me to get on a ship and go to Marley now?"
