Ezekiel smiled when he heard her say she really him. He pulled his hand up with her to give her a twirl.
"You do know Liam and Devin have been encouraging me to ask you out right? Devin isn't going to say anything" Ezekiel said.
"Really?" Mallory raised her brow then turned to look at Devin.
"Did I already mention how amazing you look? You look like a princess, just the way you looked the night of the ball" Ezekiel said making her smile.
"The night you danced all night long with Hailey?" Mallory asked. "Sounds like your jealous, but yeah I danced with her just so I could see you. Our table was far away from yours and I wanted to admire how beautiful you looked in your sparkly dress. I like this dress a bit more especially because it matches with my tie" He smirked.
"Why is it that you like me?" Mallory asked. She wanted to hear him say more cute things to her.
"I think its that ambitious, sincere, sophisticated attitude of yours that drives me crazy for you" He shrugged waiting for her to nag about him calling her attitude sophisticated. "Now real question, what made you like me?" He grinned.
"If I tell you you'll use it against me always, it's not a risk I want to take" Mallory shrugged thinking about his smile and the way it made his eyes look.
"What is it?" He smiled. Mallory looked at him and smiled back. She thought of how in love she was with him already.
"You'll never know" Mallory smiled.
"Tell you what once this song ends, lets go to the beach, it's not far from here" he said.

When the song ended they let go of each other and Ezekiel walked over to Liam and Devin to let them know they were going to the beach. He asked them if they wanted to go with which they said yes to. Liam and Devin asked the girls they were dancing with if they wanted to join them.
Once they all agreed to go they got in their cars and drove to the beach. Mallory got into Ezekiels car handing Devin the keys to her car since he drove there with Liam.
Devin and his date stopped at a gas station to grab everything they needed to make a bon fire and they grabbed some beers and snacks.
Mallory liked that Ezekiel had a jeep that could get on to the sand. Once they stopped she removed her heels and left them inside Ezekiels car.
"I think here is fine" Liam pointed to the spot where they would start the fire. "Yeah, Devin said they were almost here" Ezekiel said to Liam.
He looked over to Mallory who was near the water just looking at the waves.
Ezekiel rolled his pants up and pulled out his shirt that he had tucked in before walking over to where Mallory was standing.
"Have you ever been here at this time?" He asked as he stepped closer to her. "No" She answered.
"Do you want to get in?" He asked her. "It's cold" she shook her head no.
"No its not, let the wave touch your feet so you can feel it" he said to her as he stepped where the wave would last reach.
"Come" he put his hand out for her. She grabbed it and stepped closer to him. She saw the wave getting near them and saw as it began to lower. The water touched her feet and he was right, it wasn't as cold as she imagined it.
"Zeke!" Devin yelled making him turn. Zeke grabbed Mallory's hand and they walked back towards them. "We brought snacks, drinks, and I only found this they didn't have individuals" Devin said to Ezekiel as he handed him a box.
"What the fuck are we supposed to do with thirty?" Liam said when he saw how many pieces the box had.
"It's fine, it's even better" Ezekie said.
"What is it?" Mallory asked. "Don't tell her until she apologizes to me" Liam joked making Mallory roll her eyes at him.
"Sky lanterns" Ezekiel said as he opened the box. "Have you ever flown one?" He asked.
Mallory shook her head no.
"Let's start" Ezekiel said. "That sounded like were going to begin a ritual or something" Liam laughed as he grabbed one for his partner and himself.
Everyone grabbed one and Devin handed everyone a sharpie and a sticky note.
"Write anything you want on the on it a wish, a secret, your initials and my initials, anything you want, it'll leave with the lantern" Zeke smiled.
"What are you going to write?" Mallory asked him. "A wish" Ezekiel said.
Mallory grabbed her sharpie and thought about what to write.
She looked up to see that Ezekiel was already done with his note.
She wrote on her note and began folding it just like Ezekiel had done.
"You've seriously never done this?" Devin asked Mallory.
"No"
"Me either but my little cousin was watching Tangled and a scene with these lights came on" Liam said. "You watch Tangled?" Devin asked.
"Yeah it's cool with the long haired girl and the evil mom" Liam nodded.
They all grabbed their lantern and they helped the girls with theirs first. Ezekiel asked Mallory to wait.
Once it was their turn Ezekiel helped Mallory open the lantern and turned the fire on. "Think of a wish in your head then nod when your ready to let go of it" He said to her.
"what if I wrote a wish on the note?" Mallory asked. "It doesn't matter, you get two wishes tonight" He responded.
Mallory thought about a wish then looked at him and nodded. They slowly let go of it and Mallory watched in awe as her lantern flew up with the others. She liked how simple they looked yet so beautiful.
"Help me with mine?" Ezekiel asked.
Devin, Liam, and their dates had stepped towards the water. They were a few feet away from Mallory and Ezekiel because Zeke had asked them earlier.
Once Ezekiel turned the fire on Mallory looked at him and liked how the light looked on them. She had always liked the tan color of his skin but liked it even more now that the lighting was on him.
"I wish to see that look of happiness in your face always" Ezekiel said and they let go of his lantern.
"Why did you say your wish out loud?" Mallory asked. "Because in the moment you heard it you smiled like you never have before, it was rewarding" Ezekiel stepped closer to hug her.
"Come on" he said as he let go of her and stepped back. He took a step but Mallory pulled making him turn to see her.
"What's wrong?" He asked. "Please don't let me down because I'm willing to trust YOU this time" Mallory said before leaning in to kiss him. He kissed her back and cupped her cheeks.
Liam turned to look at them and smiled as he was alway rooting for them.
They walked towards them and Liam cleared his throat making them stop their kiss.
He was about to speak when Mallory spoke first.
"Don't you even dare to speak, he is my boyfriend" Mallory said. Ezekiel smiled and put his arm around her shoulder.
Liam playfully frowned, "I was just going to say that this idea was great but those things are eventually going to come down somewhere in the ocean and that means we're polluting but congrats on your relationship" Liam smiled.
