"How fast does your car run?" Liam asked Mallory as he leaned on it after he stepped out of his car.
Mallory frowned, "does it look like I know much about cars?" She asked.
"It looks like you really don't know much about anything" Liam smiled. "There's a new private community being constructed not to far away from here where you guys can race" Devin said as he was still in Liams car.
"Are you guys up for a little race?" Liam asked.
"Only if Zeke will drive" Mallory looked at Zeke who nodded. "Alright well follow us" Liam said and got into his car.
When they got to the plain land that had a brand new road they parked the cars besides each other.
Liam handed Devin his car keys and he stepped out to get on the passenger side just as Devin moved to the drivers side.
"I thought you were going to drive?" Ezekiel asked Liam.
"No I don't speed, I just ride along" Liam said. Mallory looked at Liam and watched as he buckled his seatbelt. Mallory knew exactly why he didn't like to speed but figured that Liam hadn't explained the reason to Ezekiel yet.
"Ready?" Devin asked Ezekiel who nodded and they both turned the engines on.
"Raise your hand when your set and when I raise mine we can go" Devin said to Ezekiel who raised his hand and accelerated the gas pedal.
Devin did the same to get the engine warmed up.
"Is your seatbelt on?" Liam asked Devin who tugged on it to show Liam that he was buckled in. Devin raised his hand and they both stepped on the pedal. Mallory felt the car move and it quickly picked up the speed. She watched as it went past seventy and felt the speed of the car forcing her back on her seat. She smiled as she liked how it felt and couldn't help but laugh.
"Are you okay?" Devin asked Liam who responded with a, "yeah"
Devin looked to his side to see that Ezekiel had caught up to him making him step more on the pedal but Ezekiel kept up with the pace and went past him.
Ezekiel reached the end of the road first and they both did u turns to race back to where they started.
Mallory rolled the window slightly down and her hair began hitting her face making her laugh because her body was full of adrenaline by now just like they all were.
They got to the invisible finish line first and Mallory turned to look at Ezekiel, "lets do that again" Mallory smiled.
Ezekiel had never seen her smile as big as the way she was smiling in that moment and couldn't help but admire how beautiful she looked. He felt his heart beat faster for and leaned in unexpectedly to kiss her making her respond back.
They kissed and stopped when they heard clapping. Mallory turned to look out her window and see that Devin had parked besides them already but it was Liam who was clapping.
"That was sick, the ride not your kiss" Liam smiled.
"Have you raced before?" Devin asked Ezekiel. "Not really" Ezekiel responded.
"This was a simple race, lets go kart tomorrow" Liam joked. "But really, I want to see her drive. I have the feeling that she can speed" Liam pointed to Mallory.
"I never go past the limit so no" Mallory shook her head.
"Alright so it's set, go karting tomorrow" Liam said.
"I actually can't I have to attend this dinner with my family" Mallory looked at Ezekiel.
"What did she say?" Liam asked from the passenger side of his car. "I can't hang out with you guys tomorrow I have the charity dinner for Christmas tomorrow" Mallory said to Liam and Devin.
