Chapter 24

Ezekiel let go of her hand and stuffed his hands into the pocket of his pants. "So are you coming?" Ezekiel looked at Mallory who was still thinking about it.

Ezekiel turned around "if you want to come I'll be in my car" he said as he began stepping away. Mallory decided to go with him and followed him. "Where are we going?" Mallory asked him.

"It's a surprise" Ezekiel smiled as they walked towards the parking lot. Mallory looked back but there was nobody else besides them on the main floor.

Mallory stepped into his car and he drove off. Mallory watched as they drove into the woods and looked at him suspiciously.

"I'm not going to murder you, don't worry" He smiled as he came to a stop by a rocky hill. "What are we doing here?" Mallory raised her brow.

"Ever been off roading?" Ezekiel smirked as he raised the sleeves of his dressing shirt. "I'm not dressed for that" Mallory said.

"You don't have to be dressed for it, we're in the car the entire time. Don't remove your seatbelt" Ezekiel said as he started his car. He began driving down a rocky hill slowly and got into a small river. "You do this for fun?" Mallory asked him.

"It's fun when you're behind the wheel" He shrugged. Mallory watched as he sped making the water splash with mud on his car. "There's a lake up there  that's why there's water running here" he pointed.

"The hill is to steep" Mallory said. "Not for my baby" Ezekiel tapped his steering wheel. The car began going up the hill. Mallory was enjoying it. It wasn't something she had ever done and she actually like it and smiled but quickly put a serious face when he turned to look at her.

They continued off roading for a few more hours until they got to the lake. He parked and removed his seat belt. "Come on" he said as he got off. Mallory stepped out of the car and found it hard to walk in her heels.

"Hold on to me" Ezekiel put his hand out for her. "I don't think so" she said and continued walking with him towards the water. They decided to step on the pier and walked to the edge.

Ezekiel removed his shoes and rolled his pants up so his feet could touch the water as he sat on the pier. "You can sit you know" he looked at her as she was still standing.

"If I wanted to look at a lake I could've stayed home" She said to him. "You have a lake at home?" He frowned with a smile. Mallory nodded and he realized she actually meant it.

"Just sit" Ezekiel said. Mallory thought about it for a few seconds and gave in. She removed her heels and set them besides her as she sat besides him. "What's something you've always wanted to do but are afraid of actually doing it?" He looked at her.

"Skydive, you?" she shrugged. "Ask you out. No I'm joking I'm not afraid of doing that, I think bunjee jumping" he nodded.

"Doesn't this bore you?" Mallory looked at him. "What?"

"Starring at a lake" Mallory said. "Do you want to go eat instead?" Ezekiel smiled. "As a date of course" he added.

"I don't date losers" Mallory answered. "Is your ego really that big? I mean look at us, we're basically dating already" Ezekiel smiled.

"I'm sure you pray for that every night" Mallory frowned. "Well I think my prayers are working because you're here aren't you?" Ezekiel grabbed a pebble and tossed it to the lake.

"Do you know how to swim?" She asked him. "Yeah" he nodded. "We should go" Mallory grabbed her heels and stood up. Ezekiel stood but just as he did she pushed him towards the water making him grab her hand and pull her with him into the water. Mallory gasped as she felt her body sink into the freezing cold water.

She quickly climbed up to the pier and turned to look at Ezekiel who was still in the water. "Is that your way of flirting?" He smiled.

"Can you move it, I'm freezing" Mallory said to him. "Instant karma" he said as he swam to the pier and got on. Mallory rolled her eyes and began walking towards the car once she got there she heard the door lock. She turned to look at Ezekiel.

"You're not getting in my car like that" he pointed to her wet clothes. "Are you serious?" She widened her eyes and he nodded. "You literally got your car dirty with mud!" She raised her voice as she pointed to his car exterior.

"I know but I only got it dirty in the exterior not the interior" Ezekiel said as she shook his hair. "So what do you supposed I do?" Mallory frowned.

"Start walking before the sun goes down" he shrugged. "I'm joking, come back here" he chucked as he walked towards his trunk. He opened it and handed Mallory a Jersey Fox shirt he had and some pants.

"that's all I have" he said once she had a hold of the clothes. "Can you turn around" she said to him.

"Nope, you can change inside the car" he said as he unlocked it. She opened the car and removed her jumpsuit and quickly put on the clothes. As she was done she got off and took her jumpsuit out to give it to him so she could put it in his trunk where she saw he had a plastic container.

"Can you put this-"

"Woah, I gave you your privacy and you want to invade mine?" Ezekiel said as he was changing his clothes too. "I'm sorry" Mallory put her jumpsuit up to her eyes. He finished putting on his shirt and grabbed the jumpsuit from her hands and put it in his plastic container.

"Do you always carry extra clothes with you?" She frowned. "Yeah, I also carry a blanket and water for any emergency" he said as he took out a blanket and handed it to her.

"Lets go" he said. They got into his car and he turned on the heater. "Can we stop at my apartment before you take me home?" She asked him. "You're already inviting me to your apartment, take it slow Mallory" He smirked.

"I have to change into my clothes before I go home" she frowned. "I'm joking, don't take everything so serious. You look more beautiful when you're flowing with the conversation" he turned to look at her quickly before turning back to see where he was driving.

Mallory looked at him and slightly smiled.
