"Mallory didn't come today?" Dimitri asked Bellami. "She did" Bellami nodded. "Is she trying to avoid me?"
"Why would she do that?" Bellami asked. "Do you know why she really broke up with me?"
Bellami shook her head no after drinking from her water bottle. "We were fine two days ago I don't understand why she changed her mind from one day to another" Dimitri said. Bellami shrugged.
"I'm starving" Scott said before taking his seat. "Lets go grab lunch" Cynthia said to Scott. "Let's wait for Jason, where's Mallory?" Scott asked when he realized she wasn't with them.
"Right here" Mallory said as she walked towards them along with Jason by her side. "Our professor took forever to revise everybody's essay" Jason said as he took his seat. Mallory sat besides Dimitri because it was her usual seat and it was the only seat open for her. The only persons that knew Dimitri and Mallory weren't a couple anymore where them and Bellami.
"So who's getting lunch?" Jason asked. "I actually have to get some work done, I'm going to the student lounge " Mallory said as she stood up.
She took a few steps before Jason looked at Dimitri, "aren't you going with her?" He asked.
"She has to finish her work" Dimitri shrugged. "Mal isn't Dimitri going with you?" Jason raised his voice making Mallory turn. "Umm if he wants" Mallory said not wanting to sound rude by saying no.
Dimitri saw it as an opportunity and grabbed his backpack. He walked towards her and grabbed her hand as they walked. Once they stepped into the hall that was empty Mallory pulled her hand away. "Don't do that again" Mallory said in regards to him grabbing her hand in front of their friends.
"Mal lets talk" Dimitri grabbed her hand. Mallory looked at him. "Why did we break up? Is it really because of everything that you said or is there someone else you're interested in?" Dimitri asked her.
"There's nobody else Dimi but even if there was that wouldn't be any of your business. I just don't feel comfortable being with you anymore because everyone see's your effort but not mine. They think you can do greater things than I can. It's always about you and I and if it's not about both of us it's about you. I just shadow you and I wasn't made to shadow anyone. If you can understand that maybe with time we can be together but if you can't and you think you can change it from one day to another it just shows you'll change for a few days and then we'll have the same problem again" Mallory looked at him.
"So we'll give it time, but I don't want to loose you" Dimitri held her hand. "We're great friends as a couple we can continue to be friends even when were not together. If it works, great" Mallory said. Dimitri nodded. "I'll see you in class" Mallory smiled and began walking towards her locker.
"Mal" he stopped her. She turned to look at him. "What if one us moves on to a different person?" He asked.
"If you find someone that makes you happier I'll be fine and I hope you'll respond the same way" She smiled and walked away.

Mallory stepped into the classroom and took the seat in between Jason and Dimitri. "He sits next to me" Jason looked at Mallory. "He used to" Mallory smiled. "So I got the invitation to the ball, did you design it again?" Jason asked Mallory.
Mallory's parents and Dimitris parents gathered to do an annual ball where they auctioned luxurious items. The money they gathered was given to different charities but usually it was given to a children's hospital.
The ball was always hosted in Dimitris parents hotel where his penthouse was located. It was a way of helping people and a way of getting money into their pocket. The ball was just as big as the met gala and got lots of media coverage that made people want to visit and stay in the hotel. It was a win win.
"No my mother had it professionally done. Isn't it cute" Mallory asked Jason. "Yeah it's nice, what are you guys donating these year to have auctioned?"
"I have no idea" Mallory said. Dimitri stepped into the classroom and sat besides Mallory. "You changed seats?" He asked.
"Yeah" she nodded. "You sitting next to me is making her jealous" Jason shrugged with a playful smile. Mallory smiled at Jason before getting a serious look in her face when she heard Dimitri speak.
"We're not together anymore" Dimitri said very coldly and looked down at his notebook.
"You're not?" Jason asked Mallory. Mallory looked at Dimitri. He looked so serious and mad she knew he was not acting the same way that he was when he was with her.
"No" Mallory said to Jason. "Actually why don't you sit in the middle instead so she can sit by your side and not by mine" Dimitri said to Jason.
"You can ask me to move yourself" Mallory said annoyed at the way he was acting. "You don't have to move, I'll move elsewhere " Mallory said to Jason before grabbing her backpack and moving to the desk behind her. Before she sat she saw Ezekiel and rolled her eyes but it was the only seat that was open. A girl was sitting besides Ezekiel so now he would be stuck in the middle.
Once class was over Mallory grabbed her stuff and left the classroom. Jason watched as she left and looked at Dimitri who was taking his time getting his stuff together.
"You didn't have to be a douche to her" Jason said to Dimitri. "She broke up with me for the stupidest reason" Dimitri said to Jason. Dimitri looked around and saw Ezekiel was just standing up from his seat. He waited for him to leave to continue speaking to Jason.
"She said she needs time because she's tired of shadowing me. She thinks people only speak of her and me or just me." Dimitri said to Jason.
"She's not wrong" Jason said to Dimitri. Dimitri frowned. "People do speak about you two being great together or you being really good to her I know because I overhear people." Jason shrugged. "She said we can be friends and if things work out we'll eventually date again" Dimitri said.
"So give her time, she needs some space to herself to shine. We all do, she just has the lady balls to speak up" Jason said and stood up from his seat. "Be good to her if you don't want to loose her, she's a really great person as a friend I can only imagine what she's like to you as a girlfriend" Jason added
