It is a big-ass gathering. Jihoon doesn't even know how Seungcheol knew the girls from Loona. Maybe it wasn't even him that invited them. They're on a fancy boat in the middle of the river, where refreshments are a choice of champagne or wine. Many of his boys chose wine, while the girls of Loona have chosen champagne. Interesting.

Suddenly, he sees him. Kwon Soonyoung, famed dancer and leader of the performance unit of his group. Jihoon sees him get on the boat, Seungcheol and Jeonghan going to greet and welcome him like the grand hosts they're acting as. Once Soonyoung sees their over the top acting, he knows it's a joke and he laughs loudly (and beautifully) and a waiter comes to offer him refreshments.

Soonyoung chooses champagne.

Jihoon leans over the edge of the boat and breathes in the slightly off smell of the river he sails on. For a gathering of 25, the boat isn't so loud. Soonyoung must either be piss drunk or too preoccupied to be this quiet. Jihoon sighs as he realises he's thinking about Soonyoung again. From his right, he hears the tinkle of the boy's laughter again. And his heart actually aches. He chuckles to himself at his own misery.

How the hell did he survive eight years beside Soonyoung like this? Witnessing his happy and sad sides, hearing his beautiful laughter, seeing his precious smile, holding him when he was down, hugging him tight when tears were all the words he could say...

Jihoon hears heels walk up next to him. Turning to his right, he's met with Ha Sooyoung, also known as Yves. She greets him politely and he laughs, "No need to be formal with me. We're all gonna get drunk and not even care by the end of the night." Sooyoung laughs along, "Ah, you're right. Okay then I'll talk to you comfortably... Sunbae." As Jihoon whines at Sooyoung, all she can do is laugh. Their unknown mission of getting close has started.

After a sigh from Sooyoung, Jihoon turns in curiosity to see her take a sip from her glass of champagne while staring off into the distance. Observing the boat itself seems to be more calming than watching the blackness of the waters beyond their float. He tries to follow her line of sight but gets distracted by something else.

It's Soonyoung. Obviously. He's chatting with Myungho and Wonwoo, the two that most fit the occasion and location the best. Jihoon always thought they looked good in formal attire, Wonwoo with slicked back hair and a nice wristwatch and Myungho giving his formal wear his own personal artsy touch. Hm, maybe Jihoon thought too much about it.

But all he can focus on tonight is Soonyoung. It's been almost 20 minutes but Soonyoung hasn't even made a move to try to find Jihoon at all. And it makes him kind of sad. He swirls his wine as he watches Soonyoung double over in laughter. A proud smile is on Myungho's face, indicating he made a joke while Wonwoo's expression can't be seen from Jihoon's angle. Soonyoung's eyes form little lines and his mouth curls up in the right way that makes his laugh so... cute.

"Fuck..." Jihoon whispers to himself, sipping his wine. Sooyoung catches this, "What's up?" Caught off guard, Jihoon almost chokes on his wine. "Uh... nothing." Sooyoung is better than Jihoon, so she follows his line of sight perfectly and connects it to Kwon Soonyoung. She raises an eyebrow, "His name is Soonyoung, right? Like, Soo-N-young?" Jihoon nods. "You're looking a little troubled, what's wrong?"
