"soon,"

"mm?"

soonyoung scrolls on his phone, waiting for the people up front to move. it seems like the way has been blocked by fans and they have to be safely sectioned off before the group can get into the airport itself.

among the chaos of screams that call for all thirteen of their names, soonyoung only hears one softly calling for him, "soonie." he finally looks up...

and locks his phone.

his cap slightly overlaps jihoon's in the opposite colour. with the mask on, soonyoung can only see jihoon's eyes and they're what stops the world around him.

he takes all the time he can to drown in jihoon.

his eyes look blown and like one shade of extremely dark, warm brown. the late morning light reflects off them and create little spots of highlights that look like glitter or stars. jihoon looks so innocent, it takes soonyoung's breath away.

soonyoung wishes the moment could last longer, because this jihoon is so rare. and rare things must be protected at all costs.

"i'm rare?"

he snaps out of it and stumbles over his words trying to come up with an excuse.

jihoon giggles, a sound soonyoung rarely gets to hear. usually he hears the low but slightly amused chuckle, or a high and excited cackle. but this... this giggle feels private, like something only to be kept between the two of them.

"i'm sorry... um, what did you call me for?"

jihoon giggles again! it catches soonyoung by surprise. he watches in slow motion, how jihoon's big shiny eyes form these crescent shapes, how the implied grin under his mask must be so wide and so cute. he thinks about how jihoon's eyes are so pretty...

as is the rest of him...

"hm~ it's nothing," jihoon finally sighs dreamily, turning back around.

they finally gets to move.

their large group gets swept up in the fast pace of clearing everyone to board the flight. soonyoung doesn't even get the chance to process any of it.
