i just saw a comic abt this and had to write it so verkwan came to mind! i actually did not save the artist uhm. but lmk if you know who did this 😭 the comic went the same way (without the house n all, those are flairs)

Just a quiet afternoon at Seungkwan's house. Hansol's over since it's the norm, but Seungkwan has been unnaturally quiet since their walk back from school. He only noticed when he was talking quite ecstatically and Seungkwan told him to keep it down. Because Seungkwan never tells him to be quiet. It's usually Hansol's job.

The television is on, playing random recommended videos. Hansol picked the first video and Seungkwan was interested for a little bit, but that interest died off after 15 minutes. Neither of them pay attention now, with Seungkwan being off into whatever world he's in and Hansol spending all his quiet energy mulling over his absence.

Hansol checks the time. It's been a good 4 hours since he's been here and usually Seungkwan's family cooks for him before he leaves to his house. It seems like he isn't really wanted anyway, with the way Seungkwan has been so quiet. Except, when he starts to stand up and get his bags in order, Seungkwan suddenly snaps up and asks him "Where are you going?" with such surprise and intensity.

As if he wants him to stay.

"H-home?" Even Hansol is unsure of himself. He's shocked by Seungkwan's sudden animated response. The boy shakes his head, "Not yet. Dinner."

Hansol resigns with a sigh and a smile. If Seungkwan wants him to just sit here and be present, and then have some dinner too, why not?

Seungkwan's mother comes back first and Hansol politely greets her. Though she's now an added person in the house, her presence feels tucked away behind the kitchen door.

Seungkwan reaches forward to grab a thin marker from the coffee table in front of them. Hansol's just surprised he moved. Eyes still on Seungkwan, he watches him doodle on his pointer finger. The other then looks at him and they meet gazes as he shows his finger. There's a sad face drawn on it.

Hansol frowns and motions for the pen. he doodles on his own and shows it to Seungkwan with a proud look. He's drawn a happy face. Seungkwan almost cracks a smile at how cute Hansol's antics are.

He sure knows how to cheer him up.

Then Hansol presses his finger to Seungkwan's with the ink still a bit wet. Pulling away, Seungkwan's finger has now become smudged and only Hansol's smiley imprint is left behind.

Now he smiles. And Hansol does too.

"Yours is sad now." He speaks!

"That's okay," Hansol says, looking at his finger. "Along as yours is happy. I'm okay to be sad for that."

Now that he's talking, "Is everything okay, Kwan?"

He sighs, "I don't know what happened. After chemistry I just felt so drained. Maybe it's because I had that test to do last block..."

Hansol wraps his arm around Seungkwan, "Well, it's over now, isn't it? I'm sure you did very well." Seungkwan cracks a smile and Hansol's just glad he's starting to get his Seungkwan back.

What's unexpected is him deciding to rest his head on Hansol's shoulder. He accepts it though. He likes being there for Seungkwan; Being his best friend means he has duties, and if Seungkwan needs a shoulder then so be it.

"Thank you," Seungkwan whispers. It sounds kind of weak, a little bit embarrassed and with a lot of relief. "For what? I didn't do anything."

Head movement makes Hansol watch Seungkwan look at his finger and Hansol's finger. He doesn't catch the smile though.

"You did. Thank you for being here. And thank you for the stain now." Seungkwan giggles, making Hansol smile just from hearing it.

"Boys! Dinner in 5!"

"Okay!"

Seungkwan picks his head off of Hansol's shoulder. They look at each other and can't help but feel some... emotion brewing in their souls.

"You know I'm always here for you."
