Knock! Knock!
"Come in." Bobby called from behind his desk. Hen came in and closed the door behind her. "Good morning, Hen. What's up?"
"I know that you and Kymber are seeing each other." Hen crossed her arms.
"What? No... No, we aren't. Why would you say that?" Bobby asked.
"Come on, Bobby." Hen sat down across from him.
"I swear. Like I said on the phone, the power went out and both of our alarm clocks got reset." Bobby said, starting to sweat.
"Nobody uses actual alarm clocks anymore, cap." Hen stared at him.
"I do... And Kymber does too. If you don't believe me, you can ask her." Bobby said, pulling at the collar of his shirt.
"Getting a little warm there, cap?" Hen smirked.
"Yeah, it's pretty warm in here." Bobby looked around.
"Or you just know that I know and it's making you nervous." Hen said. Bobby sat there and didn't say anything. "I knew it!"
"Hen, you can't tell anyone." Bobby stood up from his chair.
"Not even Chimney?" Hen asked as she stood up.
"Not even Chimney." Bobby looked at her.
"Shouldn't you be telling the fire chief?" Hen asked, concerned.
"I know I should be, Hen... I know that. Kymber and I, well, we decided that we wanted to see how things would go before we took a step like that." Bobby said, nervously.
"Bobby... I don't want you getting in trouble." Hen took a few steps toward the desk.
"I won't, as long as you promise not to say anything to anyone." Bobby sat back down in his chair.
"You were with her this morning... Weren't you?" Hen smirked, "That's why the two of you were late."
"We were watching a movie and we fell asleep in her bed. Neither of us set an alarm before we fell asleep." Bobby looked down.
"So you slept with her, but did you sleep with her?" Hen raised her eyebrows at him. Bobby avoided making eye contact with her and didn't say a word. "Way to go, cap!... This means Chimney owes me a hundred bucks!"
"Hen, you can't tell him." Bobby looked at her.
"You mean I don't get my hundred dollars?" Hen pouted.
"Wait? You guys were betting on if I would sleep with her or not?!" Bobby's eyes got wide.
"Well, not really if you would... But when you would." Hen shrugged.
"Oh my god... At least it's just you and Chim, right?" Bobby asked, worried.
"Actually, no... All four of us put in twenty-five... We each had to pick a time frame in which we thought it would happen... Chimney was holding onto the money." Hen said.
"You picked time frames?" Bobby sighed.
"Yeah, and I never thought I would win with betting a week... But now I don't even get to brag about it." Hen sat down across from Bobby.
"You're right. You don't. You have to help us keep this secret, alright Hen? What Kymber and I have going is amazing and I don't want it to get ruined. If the chief somehow finds out, she'll be transferred, and I don't want that." Bobby sighed.
"None of us want her transferred, Bobby. Especially Chim and I. We love her and we want her to stay." Hen said.
"I love her too..." Bobby looked down.
"Wait... Already?" Hen looked at him.
"We told each other yesterday." Bobby let out a faint smile.
"Bobby, that's so great. I'm happy for you." Hen smiled, "Kymber is great."
"Can you go get her?" Bobby leaned forward and placed his elbows on the table and put his head in his hands. Hen got up and quietly walked out of the room.
"Yes, cap?" Kymber asked, sticking her head in the door.
"Come in." Bobby waved her and Hen into his office. Hen shut the door after they entered.
"Am I in trouble, cap?" Kymber looked down, acting like she was uncomfortable to be in the same room as Bobby.
"You can cut the act, Kymberly. Hen knows." Bobby sighed as he sat up.
"You told her?" Kymber looked up at him.
"She came in and acted like she already knew. I tried to convince her we weren't seeing each other, but she got it out of me." Bobby said defensively.
"Oh my god." Kymber covered her face in embarrassment.
"It's alright, Kymber. I am happy for you guys." Hen smiled as she placed her hand on Kymber's back.
"So what now?" Kymber looked back and forth between Hen and Bobby.
