"Good morni..." Kymber started as her and Bobby walked into the station the next morning. The second they entered the door, the alarm started going off. "I guess, it's time to go..."
"That would be a safe assumption." Bobby chuckled as he ran over to grab his coat and helmet. He dropped his bag in the cubby and ran back to the fire truck. Not even a minute later, the whole team was in their respective vehicle and on their way to the scene. A building had been struck by a bus, causing the supports to fail. The building was leaning, and there were dozens of people trapped inside.
"Oh my god." Kymber said as Hen pulled the ambulance up in front of the building.
"This will be a fun one." Hen said as they all got out of the ambulance. The rest of the team pulled up right after them.
"Alright, cap, what are we doing?"
"Eddie, you're with me on the inside. Chimney and Hen, you're on winch on the top of the building. Kymber and Buck, you get to repel and get whoever you can out of windows." Bobby instructed as he grabbed a med kit and a back board out of the ambulance.
"Really? Winch again, cap?" Chimney whined.
"You heard what I said." Bobby looked at him.
"Are you sure that Kymber is ready to repel? I mean, she's still new to this." Hen said, hesitantly.
"I said what I said, Hen." Bobby said as he and Eddie started off towards the building.
"Alright. Let's grab all the gear we need." Hen sighed as she ran over to the fire truck and grabbed out a bunch of harnesses and ropes. Once they all had some equipment they made their way to the roof.
"You ready for this Kymber?" Buck looked over at her as they began setting up. The two of them were strapping themselves into their harnesses.
"I guess so." Kymber laughed nervously.
"Don't worry. You'll be fine. Buck is going to be right there with you the whole time." Chimney reassured her, "And Hen and I are going to be up here on the winch making sure you're safe."
"You're going to do just fine." Hen said, handing Kymber a helmet, "You both have your radios right?"
"Yep." Kymber said, pulling at the radio attached to her shirt.
"Alright, you're all set." Chimney said as he finished tightening down the winch.
"I just have one word of wisdom, Kymber. Don't look down." Buck said to her.
"Got it. Don't look down." Kymber gulped as her and Buck slowly backed their way over the edge of the roof. They carefully made their way down about four floors before they saw anyone.
"Hen! Send down a basket." Kymber called over the radio.
"Basket coming down." Hen responded as Chimney dropped a basket over the side of the roof and slowly let it down towards them.
"You got it?" Buck looked at her as he slowly walked his way across the window.
"Yeah, I've got it." Kymber reached up and grabbed the basket. She pulled it down next to her and climbed down onto the fire escape. Slowly, she opened the window and climbed in to the woman who was laying there unconscious. Kymber carefully lifted her into the basket and strapped her in.
"Great work, Kymber." Buck smiled as he watched through the window.
"Thanks, Buck... Can you help me pull her out?" Kymber turned to face him. They carefully pulled the basket out of the room and onto the fire escape.
"Alright, Chim. Pull her up." Buck called into his radio.
"On it." Chimney responded as he started up the winch.
"You did good, Kymber." Buck smiled.
"That was nerve wracking." Kymber said as she took a step off of the fire escape. Before she could even say another word they heard a snap and Kymber fell backwards about a hundred feet.
"Buck what is going on down there?!" Hen called over the radio. She peered over the top of the building to see Kymber dangling upside down.
"Is everything alright?" they heard Bobby's voice crackle over the radio. Hen and Chimney looked at each other nervously and then down at Buck. Buck was already scaling down the side of the building to Kymber.
"I'm not telling him." Chimney looked at Hen.
