"Have you heard anything?" Bobby asked as Eddie, Buck, and him walked into the emergency waiting room.
"Not yet." Kymber said, sitting in a chair in the corner.
"Where's Chimney?" Buck looked around.
"He needed to get some air. He said he was going to take a walk around the building." Kymber sighed as Buck and Bobby looked at each other, "What?"
"Last time he said he needed air and left..." Bobby started.
"He got in his accident." Buck said before running out the door.
"You don't think he drove off, do you?" Kymber looked up, worried.
"I don't know." Bobby watched out the window as Buck went running past.
"Well, at least if he did, he only had the ambulance to drive off in. That would keep him a bit safer." Eddie shrugged.
"That is true." Bobby said as he sat down in the chair next to Kymber. He placed his helmet in his lap.
"Do you think Hen is going to be alright?" Eddie asked Kymber.
"I don't know. Her breathing and her heart rate didn't change after we got her in the ambulance." Kymber looked at him.
"At least they didn't get any worse." Bobby placed his hand on Kymber's leg.
"True." Kymber said as she leaned her head onto Bobby's shoulder.
"I got him. He's alright." Buck panted as he ran back into the emergency room.
"You didn't need to send someone to check on me." Chimney rolled his eyes as he walked in behind Buck, "I won't make that mistake again, I promise. I definitely learned my lesson."
"Good. I can't lose two paramedics in one day." Bobby said.
"You think we're going to lose her?" Kymber looked up at Bobby as tears started to form in her eyes.
"No... That's not what I meant." Bobby put his hand on his forehead.
"Then what did you mean?" Kymber cried.
"I just meant that she won't be working with us for a while." Bobby said as he put his arm over Kymber's shoulder.
"I don't want to lose her." Kymber said as she cried into Bobby's shoulder.
"Are you alright?" Eddie asked.
"No. She's one of my best friends." Kymber looked up, her face covered in tears.
"I get that... She's one of my best friends, too. But why are you so emotional?" Chimney asked as Kymber leaned back into Bobby's arm.
"I don't know." Kymber sobbed. All of a sudden she looked around before running over to a trash can in the corner of the room.
"Bobby, is she ok?" Buck asked, looking over his shoulder at her.
"I don't know..." Bobby stood up as she started getting sick into the trash can.
"Is she just sick from being stressed?" Chimney looked at her.
"Wait... Wait... Oh my god." Bobby said before running over to stand by her side.
"You don't think..." Buck looked at Eddie.
"I don't know... Maybe..." Eddie looked back at him.
"What are we thinking?" Chimney walked up between them. Eddie looked around and whispered into Chimney's ear. "Oh my god!"
"Can one of you guys go grab some paper towel please?" Bobby called over.
"Yeah. I'll get it." Buck ran over to the bathrooms and then over to Bobby and Kymber with a handful of paper towels, "Are you alright?"
"We're just going to get her checked out, make sure she's not sick." Bobby said awkwardly as he walked Kymber over to the front desk.
"Oh... Ok." Buck said, walking back over to Chimney and Eddie.
"Did he say anything?" Eddie asked.
"No... But I also didn't ask. It's not my place to ask." Buck shrugged.
"Fair enough." Chimney said. The three of them watched as a nurse brought Bobby and Kymber back into the hallway.
"Where is she?" Karen asked, running into the waiting room with Denny and Nia.
"She's still being checked out. We haven't heard anything from the doctors yet." Eddie said.
"Chimney. You are a paramedic... You saw her... Do you think she's going to be alright?" Karen looked over at Chimney with worry covering her face.
"I hope so." Chimney sighed.
"Are you going to help mommy?" Denny looked up at Chimney.
"I already helped her as much as I could, bud. The doctors are helping her now." Chimney said, crouching down to Denny's level.
