"Hen!" Kymber yelled as she squeezed her way between the cars, making her way over to Hen's. As she yelled, Bobby, Chimney, Eddie, and Buck looked up.
"Did she just say Hen?" Bobby looked over at Eddie who was watching Kymber as she climbed over the hood of a car.
"I think she did." Eddie said as he started running towards her.
"Dispatch, this is Captain Nash of the 118. We need immediate back up. One of our own was in the accident." Bobby called into the little radio on his shoulder.
"Copy that, Captain Nash. We are sending station 122 now." Maddie's voice came over the radio.
"Buck, grab the jaws. Chimney, med-kit. I'll get the backboard and a collar." Bobby ordered as he turned to the fire truck.
"Well... At least we know why she was late." Chimney said, "I knew she wouldn't be late if there wasn't something wrong."
"Alright. Let's go." Bobby said as he ran towards the center of the accident. In the distance they could hear the sirens of the trucks from the 122.
"Hen?" Kymber cried, trying to pull open the door, but it was too damaged to open. Hen was in the driver's seat, unconscious.
"I've got it, Kymber." Buck said as he ran up with the jaws. He quickly started cutting away at the frame of the car until they were able to reach Hen. Chimney climbed in the passenger seat and Kymber climbed in the seat behind her.
"Hen? Can you hear me?" Chimney said as he leaned his ear over her mouth and checked the pulse in her wrist, "Breathing is shallow. Pulse is slow. We need to get her to the hospital now."
"Does it look like she has any spinal injuries?" Bobby asked as he leaned forward.
"It doesn't appear to be... She hasn't lost control of her bladder... But since she's not awake and we can't tell if she's able to move, we shouldn't take any chances." Kymber looked over at him, "Give me a collar so I can get it on her neck."
"How much blood has she lost?" Buck asked, watching Bobby hand Kymber the collar.
"A lot." Chimney sighed as he looked down at Hen's legs. They were deeply gashes all along her shins.
"Alright. You ready?" Eddie looked up at Buck after cutting through her seatbelt. Buck nodded. "1... 2... 3!" Buck and Eddie carefully lifted Hen out of the seat and laid her on the backboard, on the ground.
"Kymber, go get a stretcher and bring it as close as you can get it." Bobby said.
"On it." Kymber ran off towards the ambulance. She brought the stretcher back, stopping about two cars away from where they were. "This is as far as I can go."
"Alright. We will bring her to you." Bobby called.
"How, cap? There's no room for us to carry her between the cars." Chimney said.
"Well, Buck and Eddie will have to climb over the hoods of the cars, and we will have to carefully slide her over to them, and then switch for the next set of cars." Bobby shrugged.
"Ok..." Chimney sighed as Buck and Eddie climbed over the cars. Chimney and Bobby carefully lifted the backboard and set it down on the hood.
"We've got it." Buck said as he and Eddie started sliding the backboard over towards them. Chimney and Bobby quickly climbed over the hood after they got the backboard off and ran to the next set of cars to climb over once again. Eddie and Buck slid the backboard over to Bobby and Chimney, where they were able to grab it and carry it to the stretcher that Kymber was waiting with.
"Kymber and Chimney. Bring her to the hospital. Buck and Eddie, you stay here with me and help the 122 with triage." Bobby said.
"We get to go see her once we're done with triage, though, right?" Buck asked.
"If she's even awake at that point." Chimney said as he and Kymber headed towards the ambulance.
"Bobby... Is she going to be ok?" Buck looked up at Bobby.
"I don't know, Buck... But right now we need to focus on our job, alright?" Bobby stared at him.
"It's going to be alright, Buck." Eddie put his hand on Buck's shoulder.
