Honk! Honk!

"Evan Buckley. I swear to god, if you honk that horn one more time." Maddie said into the headset.

"What are you gonna do, Mads?" Buck smirked as he glanced into the rear view mirror.

"Buck, listen to your sister." Bobby nodded at him.

"Alright, fine... Don't let me have any fun." Buck said as he pulled the truck up in front of the venue.

"Bobby likes to be a buzz kill." Tommy laughed, he looked over at Bobby who had raised an eyebrow at him, "Just joking, Captain Nash."

"You will have fun when we get inside." Eddie said.

"I'm so excited." Kymber said as she took off her headset, "My hair isn't messed up, is it?"

"No, it's perfect." Karen smiled.

"Alright, let's get going!" Bobby said as he carefully stepped out of the fire truck, making sure to not mess up his uniform. He held out his hand to help the women balance as they climber out.

"Thank you, Captain Nash." Kymber said. She was the last one out of the truck.

"Of course, firefighter Douglass." Bobby kissed her forehead as he wrapped his arm around her waist. They walked into the building with everyone else.

"Oh my goodness. This is beautiful!" Kymber said as she looked around.

"Only the finest, for the finest of LA." a server smiled as they walked past.

"There are even people here to serve us?!" Kymber whispered as she looked over her shoulder.

"Yes." Bobby laughed.

"Here we are. Station 118." Chimney pointed at the marker on the table.

"You all look great." Bobby said as he pulled out Kymber's chair for her.

"Thanks, Bobby. You clean up pretty well, yourself." Maddie smiled.

"This is so cool." Kymber said.

"I love how easily entertained you are." Bobby smirked as he sat down.

"I wouldn't be me if I weren't easily entertained." Kymber shrugged.

"Excuse me... Everyone? Can I have your attention?" the fire chief said as he tapped on the microphone on the stage. The room faded to silence, as everyone looked up at him. "Thank you all for being here tonight... I want to personally thank you for all of the wonderful work that you do each and every day. Los Angeles would not be the city it is without the help of all of our incredible first responders... Before we get started with our night, I would like to welcome to the stage, captain of station 118, Captain Robert Nash." Applause sounded as Bobby stood up from his chair.

"What is this?" Kymber watched as he stood up.

"You'll see." Bobby smiled as he walked towards the stage.

"What is going on?" Kymber asked as she looked over to everyone else. They all shrugged and turned their attention back to the stage.

"Good evening, everyone... As most of you know, my name is Robert Nash, but everyone just calls me Bobby... I am the captain of the 118, like our fine chief said. He asked me to say a few words to you all before we get started on dinner and dancing." Bobby said into the microphone.

"He never told me he was going to give a speech." Kymber whispered.

"Everyday, I put my life on the line with my incredible team... Could you guys stand up as I call your names?" Bobby looked over, "We have Evan Buckley... Eddie Diaz... Henrietta Wilson... Howard 'Chimney' Han, ask me later if you want to know why we call him Chimney." Bobby smirked.

"Thanks for that, cap!" Chimney yelled sarcastically, causing everyone to laugh.

"Alright, alright..." Bobby laughed, "And last but not least, we have the wonderful Kymberly Amelia Douglass."

"Why do I get my middle name?" Kymber laughed as she turned around to look at everyone. As she was turned around, Bobby had grabbed the microphone off of the stand and made his way off of the stage and back over to the table.

"Kymberly is the newest addition to our team, and also a very important woman to me. She's actually my girlfriend... And I know what you're thinking, how am I her captain if she's my girlfriend. Don't worry, Hen over there is my paramedic and co-captain." Bobby said.

"What are you doing over here?" Kymber whispered to him. Everyone at their table was watching them with huge smiles on their faces.

"Kymber here is my best friend and my soul mate. I am beyond blessed that she joined my station." Bobby said as he reached his hand into his pocket and got down on one knee, "Kymberly Amelia Douglass. I love you more than anything in this world. You came into my life when I needed you most, even though I didn't know it at the time. These past few months have been some of the best of my life. I don't want to spend another day without you by my side... Kymber, will you make me the happiest man in the world by becoming my wife?"
