"Hey, Minnie, so there's this thing. We are all going home for Christmas. Except for Felix and Chan, they stay here, they can't go home", Hyunjin explains to me.

So than we will be a little less people here than I expected for Christmas. But it's okay, it will be fun with Felix and Chan.

So I nod.

"Uhm- actually, I wanted to ask you if you want to come home with me for Christmas, to my family", Hyunjin asks shyly. I never saw him this shy before.

I think about it.
"My parents would be okay with it, I already asked them, they would be happy to meet you", his looks to the ground.
He's so cute.

I have to chuckle.
"You told your parents about me?", I ask him then. I never thought about that, I think it's kinda oblivious he's gonna also mention me, I mean I live in the same apartment than him.

"Uhm, I told them that you live with us and that you don't have a family to go home to. And I asked if they would have a problem if you would come. And they said they would be very happy to meet you."

"You think it's okay for Felix and Chan if they stay here only the two of them?", I ask.
"Don't worry. They are used to that. That sounds kinda mean. But you know what I'm saying."

I nod. I always like doing something. I don't like to get bored because I'm doing the same thing for a long time. So visiting Hyunjin's home may be fun.
"Yeah, why not then."

The boy grins. "Great. I'm so excited. "
I nod again.

~

"So, you're gonna spend Christmas at Hyunjin's place?", Felix asks later that day.

I'm trying to help him to bake, but I don't think I'm really helping. I mean I have some strengths, but baking isn't really one of them. But it's not like that's the most important part in life. And Felix is trying to teach so me, so I am making progress.

"How do you know?", I ask back.
"Hyunjin was so nervous to ask you, he annoyed me the whole morning."

When Felix says this, it kinda makes my heart stop. I'm getting a really bad feeling. But I dont know why. And I don't really want to think about it.

"Why would he be nervous, it's not like it's a big deal."
Felix laughs.
"What's so funny?", I ask him.
"Nothing", he just waves it off.

"What is it? Tell me", I keep asking him, also chuckling a little bit.

~

The car stops and Hyunjin and I leave it. "I can carry your suitcase", Hyunjin says. "It's okay, I can take it", I say and take it myself.

We go to the door. Nobody says anything. "Are you okay?", he asks. He must've noticed that I am a little bit nervous.
"I'm okay."
He grabs my hand. I freeze. That isn't really making it better.

"I'm a little bit nervous. I'm really excited for you to meet my parents", he says then.
"Why?"
"I don't know. I just am. Okay, we should go in now, it's getting really cold out here."

He takes out his keys and opens the door.
"Hello, Hyunjin! And hello Soomin, dear, so nice to meet you!", Hyunjin's mom comes towards us.

She's such a pretty woman, she still looks so young.
"Hello", I shyly say and bow.
She hugs us both.

After hugging me, she looks at me up and down with her hands on my shoulder.
"Oh my god you are so pretty. Just like our Hyunjin. You two would be such a cute couple", she says and brushes with her hand through my hair.

"Mom, stop", Hyunjin says.
"Hey, don't be so rude to your mom."
"It's nice to meet you too, Mrs. Hwang."
A little dog runs towards me. He seems to be really excited. He jumps a little bit. I knee down to pat him.

Hyunjin knees down next to me.
"That's Kkami, he's my dog."
"He's so cute."
I stroke his head, but the dog doesn't really want to stand still.

"I think he likes you", Hyunjin laughs.
"You sure?", I ask back not really agreeing, I think this dog rather is just excited that he sees someone new and doesn't care who I am.

"You guys should bring your bags in and not stay here in the hallway."

~

"Woah, that was delicious, thank you so much", I say. We just ate diner. And Hyunjin's mom can cook very well.

"Do you want some more?"
"No, thanks, Mr. Hwang, I'm okay."
"Should we go out with Kkami?", Hyunjin asks me.
I look at Mrs. Hwang.

She just smiles and nod. "It's okay, I will do the dishes, you guys don't need to help."
"It's already late, don't stay out for too long", Hyunjin's dad says.

"Don't worry. We are grown up."
So we both stand up to put on our coats and shoes.

~

"Your parents are so cute."
The dog is running around while we both are sitting on a bench looking after him. We walked a little bit to get here.

I look at Hyunjin. Even tho it's dark, I can see his face him with the street lights.
"They are embarrassing."

"No, don't say that. I wish I had parents like you."
"You didn't had?"
"It doesn't matter. I don't have a family anymore."
I look to the ground.

It's silent for a moment and Hyunjin hesitates a little bit.
"Minnie, you remember the night were you had this really bad nightmare?", Hyunjin asks then.

How could I possibly forget that?
I think I'm going to remember that for a pretty long time.
"Yeah."

"Did you had other nightmares like that after that?", he asks.
"Only once after that. But it wasn't that bad. It was the night I cut my hair."

"Did you cut it because of that?", he keeps asking.
"That's none of your business", I respond. Why is he asking so many questions?

His jaw drops. He probably didn't think I would be that defensive about this topic. But I really shouldn't tell him too much.

"Why are you so rude? I only want to help you."
He doesn't sound overly dramatic and like he's joking like usually, he actually sounds a little bit offended.

"You don't need to help me, I'm okay now", I don't look at him, I still stare at the ground.
"Soomin", he turns my face towards him with his hand.

"Please talk with me. What did you dream of that night?", he asks and looks me deep in the eyes. His eyes look so warm and worried.

"You sound like a pick-me girl", I answer.
But that doesn't seem to affect him in any way. He keeps staring at me.
"I'm serious."

"I can't tell you." I try to not look into his eyes, even tho he's still holding my face.
"But you want to, am I right?"

How can he just see that like that? Am I really that transparent? Usually, I'm not.
Yes, he's completely right with that. I really want to tell him.

"Just tell me. I promise, I won't tell anything."
I sigh.
I have this feeling that I really can trust this guy.
