Six Feet Underground

WHEN ANDI GOT HOME, ALL SHE WANTED TO DO WAS LIE DOWN. She still needed to tell the others what she heard at the motel but it felt like sleep was harder to come by. Someone always needed help whether it was magic or just a little bit of knowledge on magic. Andi was trying to have the answers to everything while getting her grandmother to just relax and worry about non-magical things. At this point, she might as well be retired from anything magical but there were times when Andi still needed her wisdom. But whenever she didn't ask her grandmother for help, she looked in the Grimoire and would take care of it. That way, her grandmother didn't need to worry and neither did her friends.

When they had to go back to school, Andi would need to drag her friends into a private space where no one could hear them, especially the Alpha Twins, and tell them about the information she got. But first, they needed to get through chemistry class and instead of Mr. Harris since he was still MIA, they had Ms. Blake substituting. If Andi was being honest, she wondered if it was even a good idea to have an English teacher substituting for chemistry unless she had that subject under her belt as well.

"Good morning. As you all may know, Mr. Harris is still missing — uh, I mean sick — so I will be filling in until they find a more qualified substitute teacher," the brunette woman said and Andi looked at her questioningly.

Even though she knew the answer, Ms. Blake's slip was making her wonder if she knew. And if she did, how much more did she know?

     "Which is it?" she asked.

"I beg your pardon?" Ms. Blake asked.

"You said Mr. Harris was missing, caught yourself and then said he was sick. So which is it? Is he missing or is he sick?" Andi questioned and Ms. Blake cleared her throat.

"All you need to do as students is worry about your grades. I'm sure Mr. Harris is fine," she said with a smile but Andi was still suspicious. "Let's get started."

"What are you thinking?" Isaac whispered.

Andi sighed as she looked at him. "What if she knows something?" she asked and Isaac bit the inside of his cheek.

"Like how you know something but wouldn't tell us on the bus?" he questioned and Andi scoffed.

"I wasn't gonna risk Ethan eavesdropping on us. I will tell you but first we need to get out of this class and somewhere empty," she said while Ms. Blake started handing out the assignment sheets.
