HOTDOGS AND SOFT VOICE

I open my eyes when I felt someone is nudging me. It's Maisha.

"Go lay in my bed Calie. I'm about to get ready." She said to me in a low voice. Like what I decided last night, I sleep in Maisha's room. In her floor's room to be exact!

Last night when I came inside her room she already lay her comforter on the floor with a pillow and a blanket. I'm so glad that she was already asleep that time so she didn't get to see me crazily smiling.

I followed what she told me and make myself comfortable. I try to go back to sleep, but my mind is already wandering around. I just keep my eyes close wishing that I can still go back to sleep.

I heard the sound of gushing water from the bathroom so I assumed that Maisha's already taking a bath and preparing for her flight.

While day-dreaming about the story I'm currently reading on Wattpad, I felt something and heard a growling sound. Oh--its my stomach hehe. I get my phone and start searching for breakfast meal that I can easily cook.

Browsing just made me more hungry and I regret it! I don't even know how to cook those foods! But maybe I can try...? Nothing bad is gonna happen if I try right? Hehe.

I heard the bathroom door open and Maisha went out of it. She was surprised to see me awake at this early hour.

"Wow Calie! Are you sure you're not dreaming anymore??" She asked me with a teasing smile.

"Shut up Maisha, even me doesn't know why I'm awake already and craving some food. Can you still cook before leaving?" I sweetly asked her. But to my dismay--

"Sorry Calie! Kahit gustohin ko man ay hindi na pwede. Ayokong mahuli sa flight ko na dapat ay nung isang araw pa!" She told me and start fixing herself.

Hayyss, mukhang kailangan ko talagang subukang magluto ah? Especially we have a dragon visitor that's sleeping on my room. He might blow a fire here kung wala siyang almusal na makita. I started to think what foods I can easily cook or search on YouTube about the instructions.

"Hoy! Don't tell me you're thinking about you, cooking?" Untag sa akin ni Maisha nang nakita niya kong nakatulala.

"Uhmm---parang ganon na nga.." I hesitantly tell her and fake a smile.

"Hahaha! I'm just gonna remind you Calie na wala kang talent sa pagluluto. Remember what happened nung pinag-prito kita ng manok kasi sabi mo kaya mo?" Nang-aasar na tanong niya sa'kin.

"Oo! Sunog yung labas, hilaw yung loob. Pano ko makakalimutan eh pinagtawanan mo ko ng isang buwan dahil don!" Nakangusong sagot ko sakanya.

She laughed crazily and she almost cry. "Hahaha! Oh gosh I remember it again! You cried that day kasi sabi mo natalsik-talsikan ka pa tas hilaw parin Hahaha!" Patuloy na pagtawa niya sa akin at bigla naman siyang nasamid. 'Ayan buti nga! Loko ka'

"Pero seriously Maisha, maybe I can make it now? Tutal eggs, hotdog and bacon lang naman ang naisip kong lulutuin eh." Nag-aalangan na tanong ko sakaniya.

"Then try it! Wala naman masama and besides you have a shining armor here if ever na gumawa ka ng kababalaghan." She wink at me.

"Ang harsh mo talaga! Ayaw mo maniwala na kaya ko! Bahala ka nga diyan!" Naaasar na sambit ko at umikot sa kabilang parte ng kama niya. Tawa lamang ang sinagot niya sa akin.

'Hmp! Yabang-yabang porket marunong magluto! Pag ako natuto, hindi siya makakatikim ng luto ko! hah!'
