A tremor of terror ran down Sylvia's back as her fears were confirmed by the words of Lisa and Rosie. It was Titania. Her trembling hands involuntarily let go of the rope as she was overcome with fear. She let out a small squeak of fright as she uncontrollably slid further down the rope.
Lisa wiped a hand across her eyes, clearing water, and simultaneously hoped Titania hadn't heard that and that Sylvia was alright. She knew that if they drew any attention to the escaping duo, Titania would only need a moment to either haul them back up or cut the ropes. In fact, Lisa was a bit surprised the woman hadn't already noticed the pieces of rope just a few meters to the right of where she was taking cover. Lisa stood up to draw her attention and stepped to the left with her weapon aimed directly at Titania's helmeted head. "You need something or did you come all this way just to silently stand in the rain?"
Instead of an answer, Titania slowly raised her hands to her helmet and removed it.
Lisa cursed YG's name under her breath as she caught sight of Titania's face. Now she understood why Titania hadn't seen the rope and why something had seemed off when she first stepped into the open. A swath of bandages was wrapped around the left side of her face and her head. Lisa shuddered imagining what was, or wasn't, underneath the bandages. "Did YG do that to you because you didn't capture us last time?" Lisa raised her voice to be heard above the sound of rain pelting Titania's metal armor.
"I won't fail again. I can't." Titania ignored the question.
"You should have thought about the consequences before you agreed to work for a rat like YG." Lisa spat the words out. "We had our reasons for joining and now *we* have our reasons for leaving." She motioned towards Rosie as she spoke.
Titania dug a finger under her bandages and dragged the bundle upwards, exposing a bleeding hole where her eyeball should have been. "I don't care about my eyes. Madame could take my other eye if she felt I deserved the punishment. But she knows that. If I fail Madame YG again... She will take someone, something, precious to me." Titania corrected herself quickly.
Lisa choked back a spout of bile that threatened to rise at the gory sight. She glanced at Rosie again.
"We feel real bad for you and whatever you're talking about but I'm not going to surrender just so you can take us back to get tortured." Rosie spoke up as she stepped from cover and moved closer to Lisa. The two were now directly in Titania's line of sight. "Thanks for removing your helmet though. That will make shooting you in the head a whole lot easier." Rosie gave a smirk and pulled her weapon up to fire.
"Rosie!" Lisa brought her arm up even quicker to prevent Rosie from firing but the gun still went off and a pair of bullets ricocheted off of Titania's chest.
"What is wrong with you!?" Rosie asked angrily.
Titania didn't flinch at the impact of the bullets and watched Lisa impassively, "You're not as headstrong as YG said you'd be." She pulled her bandages and then her helmet back into place. "It seems Lisa is aware that my orders are the only reason the soldiers behind me haven't flooded this rooftop and killed you both. Kill me and those orders are as good as gone." Her tone grew increasingly condescending as she spoke to Rosie.
Rosie lowered her weapon a fraction. "If you don't want us, then what do you want?"
Titania raised a large finger, "YG desires her two employees to be brought back the most. Assassins are one thing but it would be quite the blow to her reputation if word gets out that civilians were able to escape from her."
"So let's say we know where those employees are and we give them to you. Then what?" Rosie asked through gritted teeth.
Titania shook her massive head, "Please do not insult my intelligence you foolish girl. I know they are here somewhere. If not on the roof, my soldiers will find them soon enough. But if you give them up now, I will bring you back to YG personally. My orders to bring back all four of you are non negotiable but if you resist, I have no reason to bring the two of you back unharmed. Especially the pink one."
