Jisoo watched as Jennie slumped in her chained position. Her split lip had only grown worse in the throes of her silent screams and blood dripped from her mouth onto the floor. Jisoo slid the power off for the final time and slowly drew in a breath, holding it in her chest before releasing it slowly. I hope that was enough.
The loudest sound in either room was the sound of Jennie's heavy panting.
Ophelia leaned over and turned off the inter-room microphone on the panel. "I'm impressed."
Jisoo raised an eyebrow, "It didn't seem like you'd ever be one to acknowledge Jennie's strength." And she's stronger than you could ever imagine.
Ophelia let out a short giggle of laughter, covering her mouth. "You thought I meant her? Please. She barely made it through without crying out for her mother. I was talking about you, Miss Jisoo."
Jisoo noted the added term of respect, something that had been missing earlier. "I haven't done anything." She replied, an undercurrent of suspicion in her tone. "Unless..." She trailed off, putting together the pieces of the puzzle.
Ophelia nodded her head in acknowledgement. "Yes. That was a test for both of you. A test of strength for Jennie and a test of will for you." Ophelia leaned against the panel nonchalantly. "When Madame YG told me of this secret test, I had a hard time believing that you'd be able to go through with it but here we are." She giggled again. "There were even sessions where you went over the recommended shock time. Quite a surprise."
Jisoo turned away from Ophelia to stare at Jennie and to hide her anger. Hidden behind her hair, Jisoo's jawline flexed as she ground her teeth. I was right to be careful. As she watched, the chained assassin bent towards her cuffs and slowly smeared blood onto her hand as she wiped her mouth. The wave of anger passed in an instant and she turned back to Ophelia, "It's an honor to have passed the test then. And since I have done what I was told, I'll be returning to my mother now."
"I'll go with you! Madame will need to hear my report as well." Ophelia said cheerfully. She reached over to flick back on the microphone.
Jisoo watched her silently. Ophelia seems much happier after watching Jennie get tortured. What a psycho bi-
Ophelia's words interrupted her thoughts. "We will be making our report to Madame YG now. Expect to hear from her shortly."
"Oh it's about time!" Jennie called out in between breaths. "I'll finally get to take a nap after that nice massage." She began laughing hoarsely and Ophelia turned the microphone off, muttering to herself angrily. She spun on her heel and left the room. Jisoo did her best to hide a smirk as Ophelia stormed out.
Beyond the glass pane, Jisoo could still see Jennie laughing as she pushed a button next to a keyhole in the panel. The lights in the interrogation room flickered off and Jisoo quickly followed behind the woman.
The solitary elevator Jisoo had taken down from her mother's floor was closed. A glance told her that it was currently sitting still on the 51st floor, the throne room. Opposite that was a full row of standard elevators that allowed access to non-essential floors. Rather than recall the elevator that could bring them straight to the throne room, Ophelia summoned one of the other elevators. The numbers for the nearest elevator began to rise smoothly to their floor.
The possibility occurred to Jisoo that YG might have her own way of moving about the complex. She couldn't imagine her mother wasting precious seconds waiting around for an elevator. Which meant that someone else took that elevator to floor 51.
Let's test that theory. "You're not allowed on floor 100?" Jisoo laced her question with an air of superiority. "Guess I'll just have to meet with my mother separately."
