Jennie swung a wild haymaker to make Irene move out of the way but the woman simply slid back in front of her again.

"I don't have time to keep playing these games with you," Jennie growled.

"You can lie to yourself but don't lie to me." Irene stood in front of her with an arrogant sneer.

"What are you talking about?"

"You're just pretending to care about her like you pretended to care about me. But eventually you'll get bored again. " She paused, letting her words sink in. "Is it really manipulation if I'm telling the truth?"

Jennie held up a hand, palm facing Irene. There was no anger or violence in her motion which is what shocked Irene the most.

"You're starting to sound like my boss." Jennie had a weary tone. "I told you where I stand, Irene. Nothing that you say to me is going to change my mind."

A strange look passed across Irene's face.

Irene stepped to the side.

Now it was Jennie's turn to be shocked and she looked at Irene warily.

Irene pointed diagonally to the far side of the arena where a dimly lit YG could be seen pacing back and forth, staring into the pit.

"She stopped paying attention to us a while ago," She winked. "I'll give you a one minute head start to help your team.

The myriad of thoughts flying through Jennie's head funneled down to one word, "Why?"

"Well I can't let my team get killed by your freakishly strong members now can I?"

That peculiar look still on Irene's face, Jennie stepped past her and ran towards the fight.

I'm coming, girls.

It happened in an instant and was over before the trained combatants had a chance to respond in any way aside from their most base instincts.

The metal surfaces around them vibrated in quick succession as bullets bounced in from all angles.

Jisoo's body shook and she looked down at her gun before grabbing at her bloody stomach in pain.

No way...

Seulgi bent at the waist, nearly laying on top of Lisa's upper body while keeping her pinned. Yeri abandoned her position to dive onto the floor beside Lisa, using her as cover on one side.

Although her legs were freed, she had no way to protect herself and Lisa flinched, dreading a fiery impact.

Some slugs slammed into the ground with a thud but there was a muted impact and a slight exhale of surprised breath as one found its mark.

The silence felt like an extended moment in time as the others, relieved to find themselves unharmed, released their defensive postures and turned to look in the direction of the sigh.

Her mouth open, she looked down at her bloody stomach. It grew difficult for her to remain standing and metal clinked against the floor as she dropped her weapon.

Feeling her hair catch on the rough floor, Lisa turned and made eye contact with Jisoo before turning back to Ophelia who gave a confused and pitiful laugh as she fell backwards, her uniform turning red as blood began to seep through. She clutched at her chest in disbelief.

The moment ended as Lisa used her new found mobility to swing her legs towards the fallen knife. Deftly pinning the knife between her feet, Lisa folded her legs towards her head. Seulgi swiftly bent backwards to block the improbable knife attack with her own weapon.
