Lisa led the way up the stairs towards the roof and Rosie took up the rear position, close behind Sylvia and Harry.

"What if they catch us before we reach the roof?" Sylvia asked worriedly. She was already slightly out of breath from climbing the stairs.

"The fire alarm system will have shut down the elevators as well." Lisa replied as she pushed past a couple coming down the stairs towards her. "Don't worry Sylvia, we'll have plenty of time to execute our plan. They'll have to search every floor before they even get to search the roof."

"And just how many more floors until the roof?" Harry muttered, breathing the heaviest of all four.

"Fifteen. I think." Rosie called up, answering not just for Harry but Lisa's sake as well since she had been unconscious when the girls had first arrived.

"Fifteen!?" Harry began muttering under his labored breathing as he took the stairs two at a time.

"Save your breath for climbing you big baby." Rosie prodded Harry in his back with a finger and immediately regretted it as her finger came away slick with sweat. Gross. And work on your cardio, Rosie wisely kept her thoughts to herself.

As the group grew closer to the roof, the crowd lessened significantly floor by floor. By the final floor the stairs were totally empty. Lisa shouldered the door to the roof open with ease and paused for a brief moment as the rainfall had only increased from earlier.

She turned to regard Harry, hands on knees, doing his best to catch his breath and Sylvia, her chest quietly heaving as she sought air. "I'll go check the Sydney route." Lisa said rummaging in Rosie's bag and pulling out some items before jogging out into the rain.

Sylvia nodded and placed a comforting hand on Harry's shoulder as he leaned on the door frame.

Still wearing the YG trooper's gear, Rosie leaned over into the open space and chanced a look down the center of the stairwell. She could see tiny heads bobbing about as the last of the crowd hurriedly evacuated. She watched as the various shades of hair moving towards the exit were replaced with the black helmets of YG soldiers heading back up the stairs. Judging by the sounds alone, whoever was in command was abandoning all subtlety and had sent in their entire platoon to search the floors.

Rosie stepped back with a sigh. Although they tried their best, the stamina of Sylvia and Harry had slowed them down considerably and the already small window of opportunity was shrinking.

"Come on." She gently pulled Harry by his collar out into the rain with Sylvia following behind them. The door to the roof closed shut with a foreboding clank.

Luckily there seemed to have been recent construction on the roof and Rosie instructed the two former employees in building a rickety barricade against the door using whatever they could drag.

When they finished, they walked towards Lisa who was near the edge of the roof. Even in the torrential downpour Lisa was perfectly balanced as her upper body hung out over the side. She seemed to be inspecting the walls of the building. She straightened as they drew near, "How long do we have?"

"Now? Seven minutes at best." Rosie replied. "How's our Sydney plan looking?"

"Um Miss Rosie. Why did we block our only escape?" Sylvia asked, looking over her shoulder at the rooftop door.

"We're not going to be going back down that way." Rosie waved a hand at the door dismissively.

"Right here is our best shot. Plenty to catch a fall if they slip in this rain." Lisa pointed to something on the wall below her.
