[Quick note regarding YG's name (the CEO not the company), her full name is Yang Ji-hye! I changed all incorrect mentions of it in the previous chapter (I was writing "Yang Ji-Ya") Sorry for any confusion!]

"One second!" Yeri announced as she stepped behind Joy, a now familiar formation to Rosie and Jennie, but instead of advancing, the youngest combatant seemed to be fidgeting with something.
Jennie placed a firm hand on the small of Rosie's back, signaling her intent. Rosie charged forward, intent on ending the fight before Yeri could complete her task. Jennie followed in her shadow and the two split to either side as they neared Joy.
Unable to defend against both, Joy rushed towards the more visibly injured of the two and halted Jennie's advance.
Yeri looked up in surprise as she was suddenly exposed to Rosie. There was a strange looking handle in her hand, clearly incomplete. But her surprised expression quickly turned into a grin as Rosie drew near.
"Just kidding!" Yeri said cutely and snapped her arm towards Rosie. A sound like a rubber band breaking emanated from Joy's waist behind them and the air suddenly cracked in the space between Yeri and Rosie.
Intuition was the only thing that saved Rosie. Rather than reacting to the imperceptibly quick weapon itself, Rosie had jerked her body to the side as Yeri swung her arm.
Whatever had split the air still struck Rosie and she grimaced as she felt the skin on her cheek split open.
"I can see how you managed to keep up with Wendy," Yeri said. "Not many can dodge that first attack." Yeri shook the handle and Rosie followed her arm down to the ground where she could see what had previously been stretched behind Yeri.
"Is that a whip?" Rosie asked in confusion.
"If I have to keep things simple for you, sure." Yeri wound up the long cord at her feet by spinning her arm.
With it coiled up, Rosie could see silver spikes and strands all along the length of the whip. An involuntary shudder ran down her spine.
"Ooh, you're smarter than you look," Yeri teased as she watched Rosie examine the weapon. "You know what those are for?"
"I've seen that type of design on torture instruments. The cord is split to flay skin better. The spikes, usually metal, are to tear the skin or embed the weapon in the target."
Yeri winked theatrically, "You got it! That's where the "Red" part of our name comes from. For the first few months of our training... Well let's just say we had a lot of practice washing red out of our clothes. Madame Soo Min is a big fan of sending a message with her contracts."
"Gross. I guess you didn't join SM for the singing and dance parts of the job huh?" Rosie said as she subtly closed the gap between them.
"I'm not sure what you mean," Yeri looked confused. "Whether we fight to kill or have a singing competition, isn't it all art?"
"Rosie!" Jennie's voice came from beyond Yeri but it was far too late.
Another whip crack blew past Yeri and split into Rosie's shoulder.
Rosie could feel every agonizing protrusion on the spikes and whip and grabbed her arm in shock. Her knees wobbled in pain.
I didn't even see anything in Joy's hands, Rosie wiped at the involuntary tear that had sprung to her eye. This is going to be one difficult fight if they both have whips. They can both attack us at any time but we have to get close to finish things.
