Alya walked into the great hall for lunch. She'd spent the rest of the morning asleep while James had Quidditch practise. It was nice having the whole dorm to herself, she could deal with her mental breakdown in peace.
She'd kissed James Sirius...
She'd kissed Potter
Surly she'd just been sleep deprived, perhaps she wasn't thinking straight?
She didn't know, but what she did know was that she didn't regret it.
Sure she wasn't really looking forward to all the stares and glanced she'd expected to get as she walked into the hall, but she wouldn't take it back.
Alya was throughly confused when she met her friends at the Ravenclaw table and realised that no one was acting strange and looking at her. She'd been sure that James would of announced it to the world, or at-least told Nico or Frank, but both boys seemed to be eating their lunch as if nothing had happened.
"Hey!" Amalie smiled as Alya sat down in between Daria and Roxanne.
"Where've you been this morning?" Roxanne asked teaching over for another sandwich
"We assumed you had Head Girl things" Shrugged Daria gulping her water
"Oh no, I just had a lie in" Alya replied, "I had a bit of a late night"
"Oh right" Daria nodded obliviously
Alya sat fidgeting in her seat watching her friends eat.
She couldn't take it any longer, "I have something to tell you all" she whispered
"Well come out and say it then" Daria mumbled her mouth full with food as Amalie smacked her arm in disgust
"Not here, come on" Alya said dragging the girls up by their arms and pulling them out of the hall.
"Ouch" Amalie whined rubbing her arm
"What's so important you dragged us away from my food?" Daria huffed
"You've got to promise not to laugh. It's not funny" Alya begged
"We'll be the judge of that" Roxanne smirked
"Come out with it then" Amalie encouraged
"I kissed Potter" Alya whispered worriedly
"Potter?" Roxanne asked, "I'm pretty sure Albus is with Scorpius, Lily's a minor and Professor Potters married and well... a professor"
"Which one was is? Are you going to jail, sending a Professor to jail or causing a break up?" Daria asked casually
"What? No!" Alya exclaimed
"But there's only one other Potter at Hogwarts but-" Amalie started, "you wouldn't... you didn't..."
"I did" Alya winced putting her head in her hands
Amalie, Roxanne and Daria looked at each other with wide eyes before slapping a hand over their mouths.
The three couldn't keep in their laughter any longer, doubling over at the thought and Alya's embarrassed face.
"Stop! I told you not to laugh!" Alya smiled, unable to be angry with her friends
"I'm sorry A. It's a little funny" Amalie said patting her shoulder
"How was it?" Roxanne asked raising her eyebrow in amusement as Daria still laughed
"Stop!" Alya whined shaking her head
"I'm actually surprised no one knows" Amalie shrugged
"Me too" Daria inputted, "we love James and the boys but I would of thought they'd of told everyone they could of by now"
"I don't know what to do" Alya said with a small smile on her face
"Maybe you should talk to someone who knows James best. Plus she's cool so"
Alya knocked on the door to the Transfiguration classroom.
"Come in!" Viola called from the inside.
Alya walked in as Viola and Neville sat gossiping passing a bottle of fire whiskey in between them.
"Oh shit students" she whispered putting the bottle away as Neville sniggered, "oh never mind, it's Alya" she waved, putting the bottle back on the table
"Professor Longbottom, Professor Potter" Alya smiled, "I was wondering if I could talk to you?" She asked looking at Viola
"Of course" Viola waved, "I'll see you later Nev" she said as Neville said his goodbyes to both women, "I think I know why you're here" she smirked
"He told you?" Alya winced
"He did" Viola laughed softly
"I don't know why I did it" Alya started
"Do you regret it?" Viola asked studying her closely
"...No"
"You know I'm the only person James has told" Viola said
"Really?"
"Really" she nodded, "he doesn't want everyone to know and scare you off. But it seemed if he didn't tell anyone he'd burst. I'm pretty sure he's already sent a letter home to his dad" she laughed
Alya smiled softly at the thought of James not wanting to embarrass her.
"You're here for my advice? I'm not great with advice. Whenever I needed help I'd go to my dad but I'll try and muster up his wisdom" she laughed, "James doesn't want to push you, he really likes you Alya and won't do anything to make you uncomfortable. At the moment he thinks he needs to give you space. It's your job to tell him what you want. Because at the end of the day, you're a smart girl and you know your own mind and know exactly what you want. And you'll get it if you make yourself clear"
Alya thought for a few second before nodding slowly, "thank you Professor Potter"
"Vi"
"Thank you Vi" Alya smiled as Viola embraced her in a hug
