Today was bound to be a difficult day
its barely 8 am and its been an incredibly difficult day
and not wanting to burden Valerie, reluctantly I left her to sleep this morning, not without stroking her hair and placing a kiss to her forehead as she slept so peacefully...and of course leaving a note
the things id do to have stayed in that bed with her....
but instead, I'm sitting in Leland's blooms office, furious, mad and even more so upset.
because with everything in my being i wish that we could have taken another route to saving Edenbrook than taking on a tech investor

my Valerie, didn't take him up on any offers and stayed true to herself. one of the reasons i love her endlessly...and as i sit here now, I'm even more glad that she made sure to stay as far away from his schemes as possible.
i sighed and ran my hand down my face as i said "may i remind you of your promise that we control this team? we as in V, myself, Monroe and Mirani? well, i suppose thats emery and Mendoza now."
he leaned back in his chair and said "yes! and mendoza, she's very important to note because she is very onboard with all this."
"of course she is! because she's notorious for experiments and notorious for her input on clinical trials and research. there's 5 members on this team, one of them agreeing and 4 not but still proceeding to do what you want is not a democracy."
"this is a hospital Ethan, not government." he raised a brow
i went to object when he said "but anyway, yes i remember and just like always you get to pick the cases that happen to interest you. Its just I get to pick whether your finished with them or not."
"but cant you see your preventing us from doing our job? deciding when and who are equally as important as deciding who to treat in the first place!"
