I feel sick
My stomach feels like a tumble dryer
My head feels like a sauna
And my heart feels like it's going to burst from my chest-
And in all efforts to calm my nerves, I bit my lip again, and again and flexed my fingers as I paced up and down the diagnostics office. It's approaching midnight, and myself, Ethan, James, Maria and Tobias were still at Edenbrook, an uncomfortable silence settling over the 5 of us as we waited for Harper to come back.
"Dammit V, can't you just sit down?" Maria said, looking up from the table
I stopped and sighed as Ethan stood up and brought himself from his pensive state and said "just leave her be Maria."
He came over to me and said "I do recommend sitting down though... Do you want some coffee?"
"Yes please..."
"Alright..." He watched my eyes carefully, before guiding me to take a seat next to James, and comfortingly squeezed my shoulder.
James looked up from the desk, and we shared a glance as he sighed "It's alright kid... let's just... let's just hope that the decision made was the right one."
My shoulders sunk and I said "yeah..."
Tobias seemed to scoff and shook his head "there's no question about that ."
Ethan sighed as he turned from the coffee machine and said "that's not true. You keep on talking like you know the answer to everything. You don't."
He looked to E and said "Well I certainly have a better idea than you do."
He furrowed his brow and went to retaliate when I looked to him "Ethan! Please..." My expression dropped further as I said "no more arguing tonight..."
He looked to me and calmed, in agreement he had forgotten himself, and continued away with the coffee machine as Tobias sighed yet again "Have things always been so indecisive in this group?"
James looked to him and said "things were fine when it was the three of us and Baz." He nodded to E and I
"Yeah and Bloom said you need some competition on the team and apparently a lot of it." Maria raised a brow.
