July to September is always a busy time at the hospital.
The Boards for the third years, new interns arriving, waiting for the rankings to be released- and of course the sudden rise in admissions that we see due to hot temperatures make a hospital setting even more bustling than usual. It means more sleepless nights, more cups of coffee, earlier mornings- and in my case it means i end up telling off a lot more residents for their incompetence.
Not Valerie though.
Never my Valerie. But everyone else should start showing some initiative too, at this point im on the verge of sleeping through today and my shift had only just begun a few hours ago. Vs shift will be starting about now, she decided to come to work to use the gym this morning so we could leave home at the same time...I just hope she's feeling less stressed than I am right now.
I looked from where i was standing at the window to my desk, where her picture sat in perfect view, before i sighed and ran a hand down my chin- only wishing for this season to be over sooner rather than later....
The door opened, and i looked up to see where tobias was coming and i raised a brow "forget how to knock?"
"did i ever knock when we lived together?"
"...no actually, you didn't. let me rephrase, still not knocking?"
he smirked and said "of course not. old habits die hard. but i need to talk to you. co leader to co leader."
"...alright. what's the matter?"
"i'm guessing you haven't checked your emails this morning?"
i sighed as i went to the desk, taking my glasses and saying "i'm scared every time i do there#s going to be a disaster on my page."
"well I have no idea how you're going to feel about this one. Its a case. but its under different circumstances than we're used too." he said as he sat down opposite.
"my god if you're querying it, it cant be good."
"not so much querying. very interested...very intrigued.... a bit skeptical."
I opened up my emails, and clicked on the one he must be referring too....
and the more i read, the more my eyes widened....and the more my brow raised...
