After an exceedingly long 12 hour flight to Boston, it was raining, gloomy, and an overall down cast night. Whether this is pathetic fallacy or mere coincidence, I believe it's safe to say that everyone truly wished they could have stayed in Hawaii just that little bit longer and not have to face reality that we so desperately tried to get away from...
Completely exhausted, knowing Very well we had work tomorrow, Valerie and I crashed on the couch, barely making the effort to get to the actually bed. Now, its gone 2.30AM, and I'm awake as the rain pelted down outside, and the drops casted a reflection from the window onto the whole room, only lit by the street below, and the moon.
Valerie herself, lay between my legs, and her head upon my chest and arms about my torso as she slept, and I watched on, listening to her gentle breathing, and her little stirs. As I looked down to her, in attempts not to wake her up, I stroked her hair, still in its braids from the travel, just a little looser... and I revelled in the feeling I Could have, watching her in my arms...
I'm not even sure how long I've been like this. Maybe an hour? I felt so tired but sleep seemed impossible with the worry of going to work today...
My hand still simultaneously stroking her hair, I looked back down as she stirred Again, and murmured, moving just a little, before blearily opening her eyes.
"V?"
She looked up, Still tired as she said "I'm sorry...did I wake you?"
"No sweetheart, I've been up for a while now..."
She nodded before moving up a little bit and I held her closer, placing a kiss to her forehead and I said "can't sleep?"
"Trying... just... it's hard to get a full night." She murmured.
"I know...I know... anything I can do?" I looked to catch her eyes
She shook her head and said "everything your doing now is perfect...can I do anything?"
"No... I'm just thinking, that's all. You're perfect right here..."
She smiled softly, laying down as she said "okay..."
