Sage could barely keep her nerves down while she was lounging in the back seat of Derek's car. Derek literally just hopelessly failed at trying to obtain Scott in his pack. Sage wondered what it was like to have betas depending on her. God knows how many times Derek had tried to strenghten his pack, but he was too hungry for power.
"I'm not part of you pack." Scott had growled. "But I want him out. He's my responsibility too."
"Why? Because he's one of us?" Derek asked him, trying to keep his voice down.
"Because he's innocent."
"We're all innocent Scott." Sage had told him "Some take their powers the wrong way but we're all innocent." After a while of in the car, Sage realized that she had lied. Some of them weren't innocent.
"Give it to me!' He yelled. fumbling for a knife in the kitchen. Sage tripped back on her own feet and crashed against the dining room table.
"I can't!" She cried, tears welling up in fear. "I don't know how!"
"Prove yourself worthy of an alpha! Turn me!" He screamed. He gripped Sage by the front of her shirt and pinned her to the floor. Sage started crying, unable to control her fear.
"I told you I don't know how to do it yet!" Sage choked. His thick fingers gripped her jaw, forcing her mouth open. with his other hand, he plunged the knife into Sage's forearm. The blistering pain made Sage scream. She could already feel her fangs grow. She tried to close her mouth, but she closed them on something soft, and fleshy. A hand.
Sage shook off the horrible distant memory. She laid her head back on window and stared out to the upcomming police station.
Derek was oddly quiet, but they could both feel the tug of the full moon in their guts, drawing them to losing control.
"Scott's being chained up?" Sage asked. Derek nodded, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Allison's chaining him up in the freezer." He said. Sage shuddered, thinking how horrible it must be to be abused like that. They pulled up the the back of the Station where Stiles was waiting.
"I'll distract her." Derek said, after learning where the keys were kept.
"Okay fine, what's your plan." Stiles asked. Sage hid a smile. She knew exactly what Derek was planning to do.
"Talking to her." Derek said. Stiles still wasn't done.
"Give me a sample." Stiles said.
"Oh my god Stiles! Really?" Sage asked.
"What?"
"Have you ever heard of charm?" Sage asked him, exasperated.
"What?"
"Alpha charm. I've seen it plenty of times. We'll get in there." Sage said. She waved Derek off.
"We'll follow you in." She said. It felt kind of good to take charge of something for once.
She watched Derek stroll into the front office and flashed the lady a smile. Stiles rolled his eyes but Sage hit his arm. While Derek was busy charming her, Sage gripped Stiles and and dropped down, and ran into the back room.
"It actually worked!" Sage whispered. She had seen it plenty of times, but it had never actually worked. As Sage and Stiles were navigating the corridoors, they bumped into an officer. Sage held back a sneeze, and saw an arrow stuck in his leg. Argent.
The officer made a grap for Stiles and Sage managed to punch him in the nose, but he grabbed her arm and dragged the both of them in a cell. Isaac was here, but Sage couldn't figure it out over the scent of wolfsbane.
The officer threw both of them onto the floor, only to be attacked by a wolfed-out Isaac. He slammed the officer into the wall.
"Stiles get back!" Sage yelled, and grabbed Isaac's arm. Isaac wheeled back on her, and collided his fist with her eye. Sage managed to jerk Isaac back before stumbling against a wall. Sage didn't bother to attened to her eye, but it was so swollen she couldn't see. But she did see Isaac advance on Stiles, who was cornered.
Derek swooped in at just the right time, catching both of the werewolves off guard. His eyes flashed a red and roared.
Sage was pretty impressed, since she didn't really have the guts to declare her status like that. It was enough to break Isaac from the full moon and he crumbled into the floor, shielding his face from everyone. Sage took a breath and smiled as much as she could, since half of her upper face was swollen. She looked at Derek who seemed quite pleased with himself. Sage held a hand out to Isaac, who looked up at her.
"Did I do that?" He asked. Sage nodded.
"At least you didn't wake up in Nevada." She said, smiling.
"Stiles, deal with your dad." Derek said, and Sage grabbed Isaac's arm. He looked at her gratefully. Sage knew that the first thing you wanted after your first full moon was someone to hold, and a sandwhich.
Sage and Isaac piled into Derek car, and Sage couldn't help feel bad for Isaac. He seemed so distressed.
"Don't worry. No one died."
"But I did knock that guy out, and I think I broke his nose too." Isaac said sadly. Sage smiled.
"Nah, the nose was my fault. Don't worry." Sage took Isaac's hand There were a lot of things that could have happened and they didn't."
They drove back to the subway station, and Sage pulled out a book she had stashed earlier under a seat in the subway car. Isaac stared at her.
"Don't you have a hotel room?" He asked. Sage shrugged.
"It's always better for a pack to be together on a full moon. It's more of a moral support thing." she said, and made herself comfortable on a chair. "Trust me, full moons get a lot easier after your first."
"Is it different for born wolves?"
"Sort of, it happenes a lot earlier. I had my first when I was about nine. I woke up in the middle of the woods in Washigton with a ripped open deer next to me. My mom came five minutes later, handed me a blanket and we went home." Sage said. "It makes you feel a little bit better when you see others losing control. It kinda reminds you that you're not alone. One by one, each of my sisters lost control when they came of age and it went a lot more smoothly after that"
Sge looked over at Isaac, who was transfixed by her words.
"You do realize that you can't go to school tomorrow right?" She asked, and Isaac nodded. "Okay, just checking." Sage rested her head against the back of her seat. "You should get some rest, you're going to feel like you just walked out of hell tomorrow."
