Isaac slammed the floor full force. The breath was sucked out of his chest and he struggled to breathe. Over the throbbing in his head, he could make out rapid clicking outside the subway. Sage swung open the door, clutcining her shoulderbag, which was overflowing with papers. Her heart was beating rapidly. She ran down the stairs, tripping over the last one, and mangaged to catch herself.
"Derek!" She said. Sage had this wierd look of excitement and panic in her eyes. She pulled some papers from her bag and handed them to Derek. "I overheard someone talking about it during breakfast. There was another attack last night, at the machine shop. Whatever it is, it might be the same thing that killed Isaac's father."
"So know we have the hunters, and we have a killer." Boyd said. Sage nodded.
"I had to stop by the library and print some stuff out, but it's only two killings. I have no Idea what it is, but there is a witness." She said. "I might be able to get something out of him, but I have no idea how to do this, but we can definately get something out of him because he might not have told the sheriff everything." Sage said.
"Well, who is it?"
"Stiles." She said. "Now it makes sense! Stiles probably saw whoever killed it, and it might be supernatural, which means that he wouldn't tell his dad about it, which means that he knows something." Sage said.
"There's a lacrosse game tonight." Erica said.
"Great. Stiles is always on the bench, so we pull him aside and keep him there until we get something." Isaac said.
"Now, are we done? I have a hundred broken bones that need to heal." Isaac said. Derek's eyes flashed, and he crouched down next to him. He took his wrist and bent it backwards. Isaac gasped in pain, and looked up at Sage, who he expected to fight back, like she did to Scott.
"Do you think I'm teaching you how to fight?" Derek snarled. Isaac could feel Erica and Boyd shrink back. "I'm teaching you how to survive." Isaac stared at Sage, and she shrugged.
"For once, Derek's right." Derek looked at her and she cracked a smile. "You guys need to learm everything as fast as you can. You guys don't have the years and years of practice like normal shape-shifters. There's plently of things out there who want to have us dead, and you need to defend yourselves." Sage said. She helped Isaac up.
Isaac realized why she didn't jump to his aid. When Derek was beating Scott, it was irrational, and teaching survival skills wasn't.
Sage reached into her pocket and pulled out a long strip of thick fabric. "Boyd, come here." She said, and handed him the cloth. "Tie this around you eyes. It's a game my mother taught my sisters and I." Sage smiled sadly, remembering. "It's going to strengthen you senses. When you take one out, the others work overtime to make up for it. When one sense is lost, you have to use your others to see. Remeber I say to clear your mind?"
Boyd nodded, tying the fabric around his head. "Don't do that. I want you to hear everything. The beating of my heart, the ventilation, my footsteps. feel everything around you." Sage said, and slipped off her heels, and instantly, her footsteps were silent.
"How are you so quite?" Isaac asked.
"Lots and lots of hide-and seek games." Sage said, and crept around Boyd, who was standing still like and idiot. Sage slashed at Boyd, and he only moved a split second after Sage grazed him with her claws. Isaac could hear boyd's heartrate rise as he got angrier.
Sage swung a fist at his head, and Boyd ducked. Sage crawled up a beam and launched herself onto Boyd. She slammed into him full force, and Sage ended up on top, sitting on his stomach.
"Practice." She said simply, and got off. Boyd seemed to be livid. When Sage's back was turned, he swung on her. Sage's eye darted to the side and she ducked, leaving Boyd off balance. Sage pushed her back up, slamming into Boyd and sending him flyng.
Why is she so hard to understand? Isaac thought in frustration. Sage seemed to have several different personalitites, a more mature shy side, a passive-agressive side, and then a hardcore side. Isaac didn't know if it was just PMS or something, but Isaac knew that under no circumstance should he ask.
Sage smiled and motioned Issac up. Isaac tied the strip around his head. Isaac reached his senses out and could feel Erica watching silently behind him. He could smell Sage's cinnamony scent.
Something inside Isaac screamed left! and Isaac responded with flinging his arm out. Nothing happened. Isaac remembered that Sage was tiny. Something in his gut said behind you! but it was too late.
Isaac felt hands grip his arm and twist it behind his back. Isaac's senses were working overtime, trying to figure out how to get out of the sitiuation. It was exhilarating.
Sage took off the blindfold, and light nearly blinded him. Sage laughed quetly and released his arm.
"Once you strengthen that feeling in your gut, that's when it gets fun." She said.
Erica crushed both of them. She seemed to have the same train of thought as Sage did, and didn't fail as miserably. It took Sage about a minute to take her down, which was way longer than the rest of them. Erica was panting and determined, but Sage looked as if this was nothing. A small smile was on her facw as Erica got up.
"Is that how you and Scott knew about the rock wall?" She asked. Sage nodded.
"It's strange, the sixth sense is a sense of danger. It varies between the kind of shape-shifter, and it depends of your personality." Sage said.
"Some people have more of a sense of danger then others, which leads them to doing stupid things." Derek said, who was watching silently from the subway car.
"Right." Sage said. "When's the lacrosse game tonight?" She asked. It was kind of a subject change, but both Alphas seemed it to be a touchy subject.
"Six." Boyd said.
"Why don't you and Erica go check on Scott and I'll go with Derek to get something out of Stiles." Sage said. "Isaac, you're still a suspect for you dad's murder, sorry." Sage said. Isaac shrugged.
"It's fine. I'll hold up the fort." He said. Sage smiled and wrung her fingers.
"Let's go track him down."
