"BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP" Sage's alarm screamed, signaling morning. She groaned, reaching out into the air to turn it off, and retreated back into the warm covers.
"Is it always this cold?" She moaned. She felt Isaac twist around to face her, and she scooted closer for more warmth. He opened his arms and drew her in. "I don't want to go to school." She wined.
Isaac chuckled tiredly, and it felt good to hear him laugh again. "C'mon." He whispered. "Don't you have work?" Sage moaned louder, and ended up laughing along with him.
He kissed her forehead. "Ready? I'm going to do it."
"No!" Sage complained, smiling. She felt so much more serene now, but she had to get up. With a giant swoop of his arm, Isaac threw all the covers off the bed, leaving Sage to freeze. She was laughing, but ended up getting out of bed with him. She turned around and put her best fluffy robe on, and ran a hand through her hair.
"What am I going to do?" She asked. "I can't just go and live a normal life after I learn that-" She was cut off but Isaac pulling her into a hug. Sage noticed that ever since last night, Isaac was being a lot more affectionate. It felt good to have someone be there for support.
"Today is our official first day of junior year. What if we'd start that off like normal boyfriend and girlfriend?" Isaac asked hopefully. Sage's smile faltered a little bit, but when he looked up into his hopeful face, she put it back on.
"Sure." She said finally. No, she didn't want to scoot it under the rug until it was a big issue, because that wouldn't be a healthy thing to do. Sage didn't want this issue to become as extreme as the Kanima was, so she was going to be as upfront as she could with the issue. But looking at Isaac, trying so hard to make her happy, she couldn't say no to him.
Isaac's face lifted, and Sage knew for sure that he was bending backward to draw her attention away from the dark past that she'd just discovered.

When Sage and Isaac got to school that day, Sage hoped that it would be the first actually normal day of school. They rolled into the parking lot and the first thing that Sage noticed was there there were two very fancy motorcycles a couple spots down.
"What?" Isaac asked her when he saw her eyebrows furrow. Sage tried to shake off the feeling but it was haunting. Something about those two matching bikes was unsettling, but it really started going downhill after lunch.
It was a class that Sage and Isaac didn't have together, so she decided to start doing research for a project that was assigned already. As Sage was peering through the bookshelves, looking for the right book, she took one out and saw the other side of the bookshelf.
Her heart skipped a couple beats as she backed up as fast as she could. What were they doing here?! The thoughts raced through her brain. Sage closed her eyes and breathed as evenly as she could, but they already noticed her.
"Are you okay?" Aidan asked through the bookshelf. Sage took a breath, and walked as calmly as she could out of the library. She had to keep her composure. She was not a little helpless girl who was afraid of some silly boys anymore. She was an alpha who was responsible for own actions. She was steady. No one could shake her now.
"So." Someone said. Sage looked behind her, and Ethan stood in front of her, towering with his massive height. She stood straighter up, trying to match his height.
"Why are you here?" Sage said flatly, without emotion. Ethan shrugged slightly.
"Just because, your dad would be distraught if anything happened to you, so Aidan and I decided to keep an eye on you." He purred. She narrowed her eyes. Why would Deucalion want to protect her? Since when would she not be able to protect herself?
