Oh shit.

Sage's eyes darted wildly around the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of Jackson. How did he even do that? She had looked away for only a moment! She could tell that Derek was equally confused of what just happened.

Sage tuned her hearing, searching for a heartbeat. She forced herself to remain calm. She was not going to let Jackson slip away from her, even if it took everything. It only took a couple seconds before Sage heard the rapid beating of a heart behind her. She whipped around and saw a small pair of yellow eyes in the corner.

Sage knew that Jackson was analyzing her. She had underestimated how smart he was. Even if he was a huge big-headed jerk, she hadn't expected him to get away from her that easily.

"Jackson." She said slowly and clearly, making sure that her words weren't slurring together from exhaustion. The short adrenaline rush from the moon had reminded her how tired she was. Sage was used to sucking up her issues and focusing on what was important, and she didn't intend to stop that. "It's me, Sage. Remember that I'm here to help you. You need to snap out of this. Find something that means a lot to you, and use it to come back."

Jackson seemed to look at her, grasping every word she said, but he shook his head out of the trance, and launched himself at Sage and Derek. They both instinctively dropped to the floor and Derek kicked Jackson in the stomach as he passed over them, sending him crashing into a pillar. He collapsed to the floor, but jumped right back up, and sent himself hurdling at Sage. Breathing heavily, she grabbed his shoulders and slammed him into a wall, driving her claws deep into his shoulders, hoping the pain would draw him out.

Of course, that wouldn't help at all. Jackson simply have a defiant roar of pain and struggled against Sage's grip but she held strong. Jackson's hands swept along her stomach and chest, his long claws leaving streaks of ripped flesh with each movement. She grunted in pain, but she didn't move. Pain thundered in her ears, but she stared into Jackson's eyes searching for something to hold onto. She only found nothing.

Jackson finally slipped out of Sage's bloody grasp, but Sage had held him long enough to give Derek time to follow up with her. He lunged at Derek, his claws extended, but Jackson was faster. He caught Derek's shoulder and dragged him down to the floor.

In the midst of the overwhelming pain, Sage found some anger inside of her. It was his fault that she was hurt. He wanted the bite.

Sage felt her anger take control of her, and she could feel her fangs extend, and her eyes change color. Before she even knew it, her mouth was open, and she freaking roared, letting out every negative feeling she'd ever had for Jackson. She was sick of him. She wanted him to obey.

Jackson's head whipped around, and Sage saw the human in his eyes. His fangs shrank and his eyes changed back to a murky blue. His eyes widened, and he crawled onto the floor, against the wall. He seemed to take in Sage's bloody state, but she didn't feel the pain right then. She was too proud of herself. She had finally taken control, she was the alpha.

Sage stooped down to Derek. He grunted a little bit, but nodded. He was going to be okay, but Sage was starting to feel a little drowsy. She tried to look down, but she was surprised to feel like she was going to tip over. Instead, she leaned against a pillar.

"Derek." She said breathlessly. Derek took one look at her and looked startled. "Grab my bag for me please."

For once, Derek actually didn't hesitate. Either he actually cared for her (which wasn't likely, he was Derek) or mildly impressed with her taking control.

Sage managed to unwrap a large bandage with her bloody fingers and press them against the spots where the claws went deepest. She told her body to start healing, but she could never get used to the slow process. She looked over at the door where Isaac was being kept, and hoped that he was okay. Her spirits lifted when the door opened, but Peter stood there, gawking at her blood, which was unfortunately all over the floor. Her spirits dropped back down again.

"Is he okay?" She croaked, surprised to find her voice hoarse. Peter nodded, but didn't tell her to come in, like she wanted him too. "Can I see him?" Peter raised an eyebrow.

"Um..." He started. Sage looked at him. He was not telling her that she couldn't see him. "I don't know how he'll be if he sees you like this." He finished.

"Is he conscious? Can I at least help him?"

Peter was going to say something, but Isaac started to growl from inside. Just after Peter, Sage ducked into the room with him, to find his chains snapped.

Where did Derek get these chains?

Isaac growled at Peter, but didn't attack. His eyes darted to Sage, and he softened a bit.

"Isaac, grab onto you anchor." She said. Isaac's eyes narrowed at her, as if he was staring into her soul. Sage's heart quickened. He couldn't attack her. She wasn't ready to fight. "Isaac?" She asked, taking a step back. She was ready to make a run for the door at a moment's notice. Isaac grabbed her shoulder roughly, sending a shock of excruciating pain radiating through her body. Sage bit her lip hard to keep from crying out, but tears sprang up in her eyes.

Isaac's expression melted and he stared down at her, drawing himself out of his state. Instead of staring at a full-fledged werewolf, Sage was looking at Isaac. Her Isaac.

Isaac picked up a strip of her sweatshirt, which was slick with blood. "What happened?"

"It's a long story." Sage whispered, happy to be in his presence.

"I heard." Isaac said, his eyes glinting with something. Sage grinned at him, and he wrapped his arms around her, drawing her close. Sage buried her head in his chest. "It was terrifying."

Sage looked up at him. "Really?" Isaac smiled at her, and she sat down next to him on the bench and put her head on his shoulder. His warmth made her have a sense of safety, something she didn't get very often. He pointed to her claw marks.

"Jackson got out." Sage whispered. Isaac sighed, making Sage's head move.

"And you kicked his ass." Isaac said. Sage snuggled closer to him, and he accepted her gratefully. She soon began to feel drowsy in his warm. He smelled good too, kind of like pine. That was his wolf scent, what distinguished him for who he was.

"Sage, Sage wake up!" Someone whispered. Sage opened her eyes, to find someone strange someone standing over her. She rubbed her face, and was helped up. The man in front of her smiled, and took her hand. She held up her small hand, her tiny fingers lacing through his big ones.

"You have big hands." She giggled lightly. They were so big! A laugh made her smile. He stopped down and brushed a long strand of hair away from her face, and tucked it behind her ear.

Sage jumped when her mother stomped down the stairs, pushing him away. Sage frowned. "Mommy." She cried, holding a hand out to him. He smiled and waved goodbye.

"Honey, remember what I said." She whispered. She looked at Sage, and kissed her forehead. "Be careful of him honey." She said.

"Mommy he's nice." She whined. Her mother smiled sympathetically, crouching down to her level. she looked around for anyone to hear.

"Sometimes people act a certain way, when they really aren't. Be careful with the people you meet Sage."  Sage didn't say anything. She pursed lips, and crossed her arms.

A little while later, Sage colored a piece of paper, and he came back again, sitting down in front of her taking a look at her masterpiece.

"What are you drawing?" He asked. Sage shrugged.

"I don't really know." She said, her face red. He picked up her marker and drew a puppy dog on her paper. "Mommy is mad at you." She whispered, so her mom wouldn't hear. He smiled a little bit, and kissed her hand, whispering into her skin

"No matter, what Mommy says, just know that Daddy loves you."
