Hello everyone! Sorry if this throws you off your daily Monday groove, but I felt that Chapter 18 was a little dry on awesomeness and so I wanted to write a little short part that I liked to throw a little milk into it.

Also, I may have accidentally left out some information on Sage's character so please, if I left anything unsolved then please tell me and I will make sure to answer them in the story somehow, or explain it to you. BUT I will leave certain questions unanswered for special reasons.

Sage could feel the wound in her back start to burn from the wolfsbane. Sage had learned this before, but she had never expected to actually be in a situation like that.

Wolfsbane seemed to soak into her open wound and directly into her bloodstream a lot faster than soaking through her skin. It was like a crazy infection that started and ended you within minutes.

Sage already started to feel woozy. She was panicking so much that she couldn't think straight. Her brain was already on an overload from wolfsbane, and now her entire nervous system was high on poison.

The knife was drawn from her back and Sage was too scared to fight. A small flame of rage burned inside of her. Sage hated to be afraid and helpless.

For the sake of her life, she had to fight back.

She turned around as fast as she could, (which wasn't very fast) and she shoved her attacker back. She stumbled from surprise, and Derek burst through the door, and he pushed the woman against the wall. When she tried to kill him, Derek reacted in a way that Sage never would have.

He bit her.

Sage stared at him wide eyed as he seemed to not be affected by the poisonous fog, while Sage was trapped in her little world of pain and suffering.

As she slid through the door, her back didn't burn anymore, but that must have meant that the wolfsbane destroyed her on the inside. She was violently trembling and she would barely walk without feeling faint.

There was nothing worse than feeling a pain that couldn't be felt. Just the fact that Sage knew that she was slowly being torn apart on the inside hurt just as much as being stabbed over and over again.

So this is what it felt to be slowly dying.

To any normal person, Sage would have looked like she was overreacting about her pain, but it hurt in unimaginable ways. The wolfsbane was killing her, and she had no idea how to stop it.

Isaac's eyes brightened as he saw Derek, Sage, and Scott emerge from the warehouse, but sage saw his jaw tighten as he saw Sage brace against the door for a brief moment.

Sage focused on her breathing and trying not to pass out. She had gotten too much of the wolfsbane, but she realized how much trouble Scott was in. If Scott got more wolfsbane poisoning than her, than there was a high chance that he won't survive, and Sage couldn't bare to let that happen.

"Sage?" Isaac asked, trying to keep Sage's eyes on him, but her vision was losing focus. Sage was dizzy. Her fingers trembled against the door frame. She couldn't get a word out. "Derek? What's wrong with her?" Isaac asked, his voice rising in a panic.

Sage's fingers left the door frame. She was falling. Her eyes rolled back and she collapsed, her body entirely numb, but she could still hear.

"Derek!" Isaac yelled. "What was in there?" Sage could feel herself being turned around, but she was swimming in a dark ocean, and she couldn't see the shore.

Pins and needles poked her entire body inside and out. Isaac was calling her, but she couldn't respond. She wanted to get up and calm him so badly, and it hurt to be helpless.

"Wolfsbane. She needs to get help. No." Derek said. Was his voice urgent? Was it Sage's delusional memory?

Why was everything going wrong when she got to Beacon Hills?

Sage could feel herself being lifted up in the air, but she didn't know by who. A ball of panic seemed to knot in the pit of her stomach, along with the extinguished flame. Sage tried to focus on opening her eyes, but all of her willpower left her tired and hurting.

She hated every second of it.

Find your anchor. Her mother's voice rang in her head. It seemed that she was right next to her. Sage could feel her delicate fingers brush the hair from her face.

My anchor. Sage thought sleepily.

Fear and Pain.

Sage tried to think of everything that terrified her.

Death.

Losing everyone she loved.

Her father.

Sage focused. She imagined everything her father did to her. She tried to experience the fear she had felt as a child. Every single time that he had hit her or locked her in the basement, Sage used to wonder if he might forget her.

Something small opened inside of Sage.

She remembered every single time she screamed as she was cut. Her fear on her first full moon. The day her father died.

When her family died.

Abuse.

Sage felt the need to cough. It was working. The paralytic fear of dying seemed to fuel Sage in ways she couldn't explain.

Keep going. Something whispered. Sage imagined her sister's screams as they were gunned to death. It wasn't an old fear and their screams echoed in her head.

Sage started to cough, and she could feel her body lurch. Her eyelids were still plastered shut, but it was working. Sage imagined her sobbing into her mother after she bit her father. Every single tear was fresh.

The pins in her hands seemed to withdraw.

Sage. Someone whispered. It's all you honey. You need to wake up now. The voice echoed all over her brain.

Wake up! She wanted to scream. She could feel her lips slowly part. She imagined her father hitting her and screaming.

"Wake up!" He shouted, grabbing her arms. "Wake up!"

"Don't hurt me." Sage wanted to whisper.

"I SAID WAKE UP!" He roared. Sage wasn't terrified anymore. She was petrified. All the fear was going to make her explode.

WAKE UP

Sage's eyes snapped back and she gasped, drawing in all the free oxygen that she could.

"I'M AWAKE!" She shrieked.

Sage was still trembling, but the pins and needles were gone. She locked eyes with Derek who was standing over her, along with Scott, both of their eyes wide. Someone gently took her head and made her lay back down.

She finally found the shore again. She wasn't at the risk of drowning.
