Sage huffed as she dropped a box of clothes onto the floor, and ended up rolling her eyes when she received a disapproving look from Derek.

"You know, when I said 'You should move', I meant 'Move to a place with real furniture." She said. Derek had finally moved out of his really shitty subway station and into a less shitty warehouse.

Derek didn't say anything, but he reached out his arm and gestured to a bed in the corner, and then to a desk on the other side of his house. Sage sighed and slid the box towards him, and he sliced it open with a claw.

She sat cross legged on the floor and started opening boxes, somewhat enjoying the quiet. It was nice to not have to check over her shoulder every second and not always be in a state of panic.

"Are you ready for tonight?" Sage asked Derek after a while. He nodded.

"I don't want to do it either, but it has to be done." He muttered. "Have you made up with Isaac?" Sage stared at him.

"What?" She inquired. Derek actually cracked a smile. Seeing him smile seemed like a blessing for what was going to come. "I don't know what you're talking about." She said smartly.

"Isaac worried you know, I can tell." Derek said. "He worried about your safety."

"I can hold my own ground." Sage responded. Since when was Isaac having to worry about her? It was her who was supposed to be worrying about him!

"I know." Derek said, then all of the sudden decided that he was done being sentimental. "Now get out of my house and be at the subway station by seven." He pointed to the door, dismissing her. Sage hid a smile that was growing on her face. She was never going to figure him out was she?

She picked up her bag and carefully shut the door behind her.

As Sage opened her door, she took one look at her bed, and collapsed into it. She was so tired. Even though everything was now settled down a few weeks later, she was still having vivid nightmares about her past. It was as if they refused to be forgotten, and were feeding on her happiness, only getting stronger.

She checked her watch. It was only five in the afternoon.

UUUUGH.

She had so much time to spend, that Sage didn't know what to do. She wasn't used to having any free time it was painful to just sit there.

Sage wished that Isaac was here with her, but he was somewhere else, probably preparing for the full moon. He could be so attentive, quietly listening to all of her problems. Sage remembered the night when Isaac had walked her home after finally getting rid of Gerard and killing the Kanima.

Isaac leaned against the doorframe and watched as Sage's shaky hands slid in the keycard. The red light kept blinking red, and her hands were trembling more after each attempt.

"You need help?" Isaac asked, raising an eyebrow, which Sage found surprisingly adorable. She rubbed her fingers around the cut cheek and nodded grimly.

"Sorry, I'm just so tired." She muttered through her hands.

"You seem like that a lot lately." He told her, and the light blinked a bright green. He hesitated to push the door open, and ended up staring at Sage, as if he was analyzing his face.

"It's just the pressure. I wasn't used to it." She replied. After a second of silence, Sage asked him something she'd been wondering for a while. "Why did you come back? You could have easily left for safety." Isaac smiled an award winning smile, and cocked his head a little bit.
