Sage tried not to look shady as she slid into the passenger seat of Derek's car, which was parked behind the school.

"Are you sure that this is going to go well?" Derek asked her. Sage shook her head slightly.

"It really depends if the experiment goes right, which it will, with Lydia, but she has to eat it and the poison had to be in there." Sage said finally. "Scott, Stiles, and Allison are in chemistry too, so who knows what's going to happen. They're probably going to protect Lydia."

"We just have to get to her first then." Derek said. Sage looked at Derek unsure.

"We're going to wait to kill her right?" She asked. Derek looked at her, his facial expressioon was unreadable. He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, his notorious scowl pasted on.

"If it is Lydia, then we do risk a chance of letting her go and keep on killing people. She might try and kill one of us, or an innocent, and that's something that we can't risk." Derek said gruffly.

"What if it's not her?" Sage asked. She hated second-guessing herself, but it was a nature. She just wanted everyone to be safe, but after she had been so confident raising her own pack, and then they died, Sage was so afraid that she was going to lose them again. Derek handed her a small glass medicne bottle, the thick sticky poison inside.

"Just make sure that no one screws up." Derek said. Sage fingered the glass bottle and shoved it in her coat pocket.

Sage handed Issac the bottle of kanima poison underneath the desk as she poured water from a graduated cylinder into the beaker.

"Just pour it in right before she eats it. If it doesn't work then she will become paralyzed and people will assume its an allergic reaction." Sage said under her breath. Isaac nodded curtly and took the bottle.

Sage focused on Erica who was flirting with Scott. She was rubbing herhands up his leg, and when Scott grabbed her hand, her eyes turned a crimson. Sage's heart quickened.

"Erica!" She hissed under her breath. She knew that Erica could hear her, but the 'ding' of the bell brought her back.

Sage got up and moved to the next table, which was next to a girl in her math class. She turned to her.

"You're new right?" She asked boldly. Sage was a little taken back, since she never realy tried to talk to anyone except Erica, Jackson, Scott, Stiles, and Isaac. Sage nodded slowly. "You seem really athletic. Do you want to join the track team? You have the vibes of a runner."

Wow, okay. This girl was definitley an extrovert. Sage shrugged.

"Maybe. I'm pretty busy." She said.

"That's okay. We meet when Lacrosse does. We just relay and jog when we don't have meets. It's pretty simple." The girl said. "If you want, just ask Coach Finstock for Carly." She said, winking.

The bell dinged again, and Sage tried to focus while keeping an eye on Erica with Allison, who were right next to her. This girl was letting all of the power get to her head a bit. When Erica's claws came out, Sage pretended to knock a row of tubes onto the floor. They shattered on impact.

Sage knelt down to pick up the pieces while motioning Erica to help.

"You need to back off." Sage whispered.

"Why, is it because you don't want me to hurt them?" Erica snarled under her breath.

"I don't want you to get hurt. I have seen people who turn and let the power go to their heads. They act in ways that they wouldn't normally, and they end up killing those around them or themselves. The role of being an alpha is to prevent that. Besides, Scott's gang is not to be trifled with." Sage said. She was going to say more, but was cut off by a ding. She glanced at Isaac, who had the crystal in tongs.

She caught a glimpse of the kanima poison, and Scott did too. Just as Lydia was going to eat it, Scott shot up. Lydia popped the cyrstal into her mouth and chewed happily.

Erica, Isaac, and Sage all made eye contact with one another and made a silent agreement. It was Lydia. Sage hated to be wrong, but the tests prove it right. Derek was sitting outside right now, waiting for Sage's call. She glanced at him through the window, and he looked stunned, trying to work out all of the thoughts.

The bell rang and Sage jogged to catch up with Isaac.

"Derek's going to meet us after school. Scott and his friends are going to be super protective over Lydia, and we need to get her alone. If it's her, as much as I don't want to, we might have to kill her."Sage said. Isaac nodded.

All throughout Sage's classes someone was watching Lydia. It was impossible to get close to her, even if it was to ask her a question. Stiles kept glancing up at Sage, and she couldn't meet his gaze.

The second that english ended, Boyd looked at Sage.

"Derek's going to meet us on the field. I overheard Scott saying that he wanted to meet Derek." She said.

"And?"

"We are going to meet him too."

Scott marched right up to Boyd, looking slightly intimidated.

"I don't want to fight." He said.

"Good, because I'm twice the size of you." Boyd said.

"True." Scott said. "I'm twice as fast." He said, and tackled Boyd. Sage didn't make a move, but if she did, Scott woud be on the floor. Scott might be fast, but Sage was at least three times as fast. It might have been her slender frame, but she could knock him down flat.

"She failed the test." Derek said, standing next to Sage. "At night she turns into a homicidal walking snake!"

"I'm not going to let you kill her." Scott said.

"Who said I was going to do it." Derek said. Sage prayed that Isaac and Erica were okay. Sage had grown up with a mother who believed in never putting a wolf who had never experienced the full moon in a dangerous sitiuation, and Boyd nor Erica had felt it yet. Sage was a little scared, but they might be able to handle it.

Scott tried to run, but Sage had him on his back in a fraction of a second. Boyd looked slightly impressed.

"Sometimes that shape you take reflects the person you are." Derek said. The words sent chills down Sage's spine as Derek helped him up.

"What if she's immune?" Scott asked. "What if there's something inside of her that makes her immune to the bite." He said.

"No one's -" Derek trailed off, and turned to Sage. She nodded uneasily.

"It is possible, but her scent is strange. It's not human, but not a wolf scent." Sage said.

"What about Jackson?" Scott asked.

"He smells different too. Is this normal for Beacon Hills?" Sage asked.

"Probably." Boyd said.

"Peter said the bite either turns you or kills you." Scott said. "You were hoping that he would die." Boyd's face dropped, and he stared at the ground.

"Jackson is an asshole." Sage said quietly. She meant it as a Don't worry Derek didn't mean to kill you. Kind of message towards Boyd.

Sage realized that Scott had a backup plan.

"Oh god."
