Chapter Thirty Eight

I'm Happy, Tae

Taehyung's POV

It's been another week since I last saw Sunny. As Uni and Namjoon are slowly starting to adapt to the empty hallways and diners, I was still hooked up on Sunny. I'm deciding if I am ready to let her go, but because last I saw she still had her humanity, I don't know if I can. The parts of the old Sunny is still in there and I want to consume every second of that until it's forever gone. Even though Namjoon thinks visiting Sunny will only make it harder for me to let go, I can't image it any other way. I know she doesn't want to be alone, so I'll be there until I can accept the fact that she is actually gone.

I walk through the woods to Sunny's original spot, but she wasn't there. I eyes gaze around the place only to find vampires feeding, fighting, and sleeping around. I sigh, I don't want to leave without seeing Sunny. I hear foot steps approaching from behind me, so I quickly turn around to see if it was Sunny and it was. 

She skips happily to me, "Taeee," Sunny calls once she's close to me. She stops skipping and looks up to me smiling. 

I watch her face glow up before speaking, "Hey," I chuckle. There wasn't much to smile about, this is just the blood talking. 

"I was wondering when you were going to come," 

"You were waiting?" I ask, but Sunny shakes her head. 

"No, you just normally come around the same time every week," Sunny couldn't stay still, she was moving her legs but not going anywhere. The blood has gotten her excited making her seem so happy, but I wasn't fooled by this. It made me sad to see how all the human blood she's been drinking is only hiding her problems, and giving her a front. 

"I was with Namjoon, sorry..." I say as I take a seat by a tree. 

"You don't have to apologize. Like I said I wasn't waiting," Sunny follows my actions and sits besides me. I ignore her comment and sigh looking through the woods. Sunny crosses her legs and lays her arms on her thighs before looking up at me. 

"You seem very happy, Sun," Sunny chuckles at herself. 

"It's been fun here," I look down at her trying not to frown, "I feel like I've already changed," Sunny's smile slowly grows, "Like I weight is lifted off my shoulders," 

"That's because your humanity is going away..." Sunny doesn't register what I said and continues to smile at herself. 

"I met some more friends so I'm not lonely anymore, they're surprisingly friendly here," 

"Not until you try to leave or feed on their human," Sunny still doesn't listen to what I'm saying and continues speaking over her fun in the dark woods. 

After a while, Sunny looks at me intensely. I look back at her and notice how the jittery smile fades and a genuine one spears on her lips,"Tae..." 

"Yes, Sun," She pauses before speaking. 

"I'm happy," I couldn't help but smile at her words, "I think I'm really happy," I held back the tears that were forming, her words made me emotional. This wasn't suppose to be the way Sunny found happiness again, she was suppose to do it the healthy was with me. We were suppose to help each other from this mess. 

"Y-you look happy," It took so much for me to force those words out. 

"I've been feeding a lot more even with Miya and she has taught me so much..." I break the eye contact with Sunny once Miya was mentioned. I know her tricks because she tried them all on me and I fell for every one, so hearing Sunny talking about it makes me hurt, "And when I do, I don't feel guilty or any pain. It's like I'm finally accepting being a vampire,"  Sunny looks into the view having her head raise high like she was proud of herself.
