~Elara~

The smell of blood and death lingered in the air and more of the monsters stood before us. Things were starting to pick up but Mimas stopped us in our tracks. The man from the before stood among the monsters. His shrill maniacal laugh filling the air gave me chills. Sirius made his way to us as the man continued on laughing.

'Who is that man?' Mimas asked.

'The Headmaster, he is responsible for everything. We have to be careful. He is very skilled and powerful; he will not be easy to take down.' Sirius eyed the Headmaster his anger rolling off in waves.

'Have you fought him before?' I asked.

'No, but I've seen him in action he took down a Guardian with ease. There is no telling how much power he has gotten over the ears. It may take all of us to kill him.' His words made me more uneasy, just what was he?

'Take out the experiments first and then go for the Headmaster.' Mimas commanded.

The sound of Snarls and paws hitting the ground filled the air as we charged after them. The experiments before us looked like that of monsters, their skin a pale grey. Skin and fur hanging from their bodies and eyes lit red only empty shells. As they charged towards us, they seemed to have one objective and that was to kill anything in front of them.

Mimas and Sirius jumped on the attackers and alphas tore into the beasts. Soon my fangs found a wolf's neck biting and tugging to get him to fall to the ground. No matter how hard I tried he fought me off attacking with even more force than before. His fangs were now dripping with my blood and I saw red. I skillfully dodged his attack jumping onto his back locking my jaws. He tried to fling me off but I embedded my fangs until they hit bone. I began tugging, breaking the bones and severing his spine as his body fell limp.

As I looked around, I realized that these monsters were harder to kill. They were made differently from the last experiments we had taken on, harder to take down. Yet despite it all I still saw red attacking as many as I could. After a long fight they were all taken down and once again more replaced them.

Mimas made another command for some of the high ranked wolves to take the rest to safety away from battle. Monsters stood before us as the rest of the wolves were led to safety away from the battle. I wanted to desperately rip them apart but I knew I would need help.

'The old said that would need to tap into the light.'

'No! tapping into those powers is dangerous.' Mimas spoke.

What did he mean by that? Was there even more power to tap into?

'We will work together and take them down just as they did before.'

The battle continued on and with each passing minute my rage was growing. It was all so thrilling to feel the power start to take over. All the rapture filling me as I had finally found good opponents to unleash my power on. If I continued to go as I had I felt I'd disappear into the light. For the first time today I felt real fear, there was no escaping this. Whatever Sirius had said made more sense now.

As we took out the last experiment the headmaster broke into loud laughter. One hand rested on his chest while he looked on with amusement. No one dared to move until we knew what he was up to.

"You didn't think that was all did you?" He gestured his hand as more power began to rise and this time, I knew we had to use all our power. It was off the charts I had never felt it before nor knew that a powerful being like this could exist. "Looks like you were all capable of more but let's see how you stand up against my beast."

'We have to be smart about this." Sirius spoke. 'I do not like how this is going.'

There was no other way we had to tap into the unknown and allow the power to consume us. With it I'm sure we would succeed but in turn would lose. Yet we would lose more if we didn't.

'Mimas, I think that we have to use our powers.' Speaking gently knowing that he would not like the suggestion.

'It's a huge risk we can not be certain that you both would come back from it. You don't have the experience nor the years of dealing with its unimaginable and unlimited power. You both could be lost to it.'

'We would be risking all of the creatures being enslaved and who would save them if not us?' Sirius reasoned lowering his head showing respect.

'He is right Mimas we have to all do this together otherwise they all lose. Look at them.' We all looked on at the wolves who ran away to find shelter. 'They are helpless. There are pups that have never seen the outside world and ones who have lived in fear for so long. The elders their whole lives deserve better than to reside being controlled. All of them never able to touch their freedom until this moment now they have gotten a taste. Do you want to take that from them?'

I knew that he was reluctant but surely, he would never allow any of them to suffer anymore. They had all been through enough and it was time for them to be able to live. To be free.

'I know that.' He began to pace as the power drew nearer.

'What is it then that stops you from trusting in us. We can do this despite how long it takes we will fight to come back.'

'I could lose you!' His voice along with his beast shook the walls of the link. 'You Elara, I could lose you and what then? This could be all my fault if something happens to you and Sirius. Many are counting on us all and losing you I don't think I can bear it.'

My heart felt so full with his words.

'We can do it because we have you.' I nuzzled his head.

'There is no time they are here; we have to do this now.' Sirius flared his power forward allowing it to take over. We could feel him fade within it as he stood ready for the fight his targets locked.

Looking to Mimas again possibly for the last time I tried to remember every detail to aid me back. In my heart I knew that I would come back for him. I nuzzled him relishing in the moment.

'I love you.' I spoke with no regrets and this time I allowed the words to flow. There was no mistaking them this time.

Allowing every ounce to consume me everything faded and then turned red. Instead, I was placed in a state of awareness but what ran through my body was all the light. There was no telling when I would be set free, I felt stuck. I was afraid I would become void and I was unsure that Mimas could bring me back.

He also allowed his light to take over him but he was more present than we were. I did not feel solid I felt like I was slowly fading away. Mimas looked at us both.

'Try to stay alert, don't allow it to take or consume you. guide it.'

We both nodded and the movement felt so foreign. Four massive powerful beasts came from around the corner running towards. Now the real fight would begin.
