~Elara~

Darkness fell as the red circle hung in the air, the effects stronger than ever as it neared its peak. The beasts were snarling and growling as they made their way towards us. I held little doubt that we could take them on but it was four against three. This would not be a fair fight because one could easily attack the weaker wolves. Mimas led us taking on two beasts as best he could. While Sirius took on another. A grey wolf was left before and he left little time to react before he leaped towards me. The light began to serge and I dodged the blow with ease. Yet these actions were not my own.

The light went out from me swirling around as it lit with fire. Its burning flames engulfing the land around me. Pinning him down with the ignited flame his growls became whimpered cries cast into the air. He pushed back stronger than I had thought and he slipped away as I became distracted. One beast escaped Mimas and was now headed to Sirius who didn't see him coming. Thankfully Mimas was able to aid him biting onto his shoulder. Yet that did not stop them. Their anger fueling them onward.

We were quickly running into a problem. There was not enough of us to take them and they knew it. One left heading straight towards the females and pups. They were all being led out to a safe place but it wasn't quick enough. We all tried to go after him but the others kept us at bay. The grey beast attacked me, his canines sinking into my hind leg. Rage and fire grew burning and blasted him away from me. His body rolled along the ground but the blow didn't affect him much. There was nothing we could do to stop the other beast from attacking them. All we could do was fight on with rage in hopes we could somehow save them all.

Alphas came barreling in all at once attacking the beast and distracting him from the others. I could feel them in the link. Many others in the link broke out into cheers and howls as they attacked the beast.

'We will take care of him.' One spoke.

'He won't get past us.' Another spoke.

Again, and again they all tagged teamed him never letting up, swarming the beast. At this rate they stood a chance in taking him down. My heart filled with pride as our kind stood together as one. Now we could focus our attention on the beasts at hand.

My fur was standing on end and I knew the grey beast was sprinting towards me. Everything was in slow motion and as my body reacted. Stepping out of the way my fangs dug into his neck focusing all my energy in snapping it. He struggled against me but I would not let up. He stood on his hind legs and I used my claws to get a firmer hold on him. He fell backyards in an attempt to get me off. It was a painful blow but I managed to stay locked on him, no matter how hard he tried I wouldn't stop.

The taste of the beasts blood drained into my mouth and the taste for more raged me on. I could feel the need growing within me just as it had before. Ignited with a vengeance the light blew around and fire consumed us both. The difference is that it didn't not affect me at all. The fallen wolf once greyed fur soon turned black as it lit with flames. Yet he continued to struggle under my hold rolling and throwing his head back to free himself.

I was quickly losing myself to the light and its power slipping further away. I couldn't control it anymore as it consumed my body.

'Mimas, I don't think I can last much longer.' I linked weakly.

My body was strong and powerful having no limits it would seem. Yet my mind was slowly fading away into a cage just like the one I locked my beast away in.

'Fight harder don't let it take you away.' Him and his beast yelled in the link and I could tell they were pained.

The fact of the matter, I was trying hard to stay afloat and not be carried away. I felt like I was in a sea of light and there was nowhere to pull myself out of it. Only it kept devouring me, taking me deeper carrying me away to lock me up inside my own head.

'I'll bring you back from it I promise Elara.' Mimas said.

I wasn't so sure that he could bring me back. I was slipping away and this battle still raged on.

Sirius too was also fading away and unlike me showed no fear for it. He truly had become the Guardian selfless and self-sacrificing for his kind. It gave me the strength to try harder to push back at the pull.

Finally, the Beast began to fall and I increased the pressure snapping every bone beneath. By the time I was done blood and a few bone shards covered my fangs and blood poured down my mouth. I wanted and needed rest but things continued to get worse. Humans came with reinforcements with tanks ready to fire in our direction.

'I've got it.' I said in the mind link as more wolves joined me, they were betas.

They all followed me in attacking the humans and their machines. We spread out taking on whatever was in our way attacking the many soldiers that came our way. I went straight for one of the tanks jumping onto the top. Surprisingly it was easier than I thought to get my canines through it. Although it took a while, I was able to rip off the top going after the men and women inside that shot at me.

All the while I was still being taken over by the blood lust and the power that kept trying to lock me away.

We were all struggling to kill the beasts and humans alike. Time going by in a blur as we all raged on. There was no telling how much time had passed but the moon was still high in the sky.

Everywhere I looked there was red and my targets soon all fading into one. I didn't know which way was up or down or who even was my enemy anymore. Mimas was forcing himself into my mind shaking me from the depths of power. If this kept up, I wasn't sure how long I could resist its pull, its strength elevating. I felt that it wanted to become part of me in a way that I couldn't explain.

Continuing on with the battle I stopped as another beast came out from nowhere flashing by me. Mimas and Sirius killed their beast and were going to aid the Alphas but another force came. It shook the land as it made its presence known.

From the looks of it he matched us from within. A swirling green light glowed around him and his eyes red with rage.
