Deep within my heart I wished I could stay within her embrace and reassure her that all would be well. My anger subsided but I still had to protect her, she had to be safe. Those wolves would be a problem and I'm sure all they saw were threats when it came to the humans. Their past enslavement and fear fueled their anger, it was only natural for them to feel that. Yet we had won and the ones that were a problem were being dealt with. What more could they want?

Looking down at Mei I saw a flash of something within her eyes but it was gone before I could even react. She seemed better now and like myself not wanting to be apart from each other. More humans gathered around sensing that they were safe with me. Pleading that I protect them and their children from the ones who killed their family. I tried reaching Mimas but then realized he probably wouldn't answer.

At this point it was up to me to take charge until he was able to. He had a lot on his plate and needed to sort out what was happening with his mate. For now, I would take charge and it looks like I would be doing just that. Some of the elderly and weaker wolves gathered and the humans hid behind me as the smell of fear filled the air. Mei pulled away slightly to look at the approaching wolves; she did not seem nervous like the rest of her kind. She remained calm despite the fact her hands grabbed at my fur.

They all were speaking at once in the link wanting to know what they shall do next. I hushed them all and they became silent awaiting what I would say. Honestly, I had no clue what I would say let alone what I should say. I've never led anyone else before I was used to being on my own, so finding the words was challenging.

'For now, we will await the orders of Mimas, as of right now we tend to the injured. Do not attack the humans who have done no harm. Anyone who oversteps that will answer to me with their life.'

'But the humans have enslaved us!' One shouted in the link.

'They have to pay with their lives for what they have done! They have killed some of our pups, they all should die!' Another joined in.

They kept going on and on about how the humans should all suffer and die. Hypocrites! Just what did that make us in the end if we did exactly what they have done to us. It would end in a never-ending cycle. Yes, they did things that should be answered for, but not all of them were bad.
