~Elara~
The Beast was not going anywhere, he made it clear that he was here to stay. Mostly I feared that I would never get Mimas at all, from the way he acted I felt that he would forever lock him away. He stood up once again, his red eyes much dimmer now but still no Mimas.
"Let's go home where I can protect you better." He linked it as a command.
My body jerked forward from the force of the command, my legs carrying me as I followed. Thankfully my leg had healed enough to walk and I was no longer out of breath. He turned to check on me to ensure I was okay and that I was not struggling at all with the pace. I wondered what he meant by protecting me better at home, unless the humans were coming in to deal with the aftermath. They rarely made a move to come in plus all the survivors were gone.
Although I could not see it, we had made it to a river one that I didn't know existed. It came into view its waters rushing and hitting rocks that lay within it. We drank from the river, it was fresh and cold. I wasted no time taking as much in as I could. I didn't realize how thirsty I was until now. When I finished drinking I felt a command urging my body forward following him.
What was going on?
There was a jolt and then I responded to whatever he wanted me to do. This time he did not say it in the link I was merely being pulled by a force. Why could I not resist his command? No one had ever used it on me before not with this amount of force. Mimas had never done this to me, not my Black wolf.
Pushing my paws down I tried to stop but my body kept moving on its own accord. No! I tried to do it again but the same thing happened, not being able to stop.
'There is no way out of a royal beast command.' He looked over his shoulder at me. 'You are mine and will remain mine forever.'
Panic took over me, but what was I to do? There was no way I could take him on and live. Plus, he had his mind dead set on me doing whatever he wanted me to do.
Now more than over I had to find a way out of this and bring him back to me. My life could not be ruled by this Beast, I had my own mind and will. Mind linking, I searched for Mimas shouting his name pleading that he fight and come back to me. There were small hints of him still there but they were far away from me and I could not reach him.
'Stop trying to find him, I've already told you that he is locked away.' His voice echoed loudly in my head.
My body felt weak and drained from the rattling inside my head. For now, I would listen and comply, I knew he would not hurt me, for now. Some way I needed to get to him and bring him back there had to be a way to free him. Many wolves counted on it and I needed him and he could not remain this way.
There were so many unanswered questions about the royals and their capabilities. Now experiencing them we wolves had a lot to learn and watch out for. They were dangerous yet protectors of all wolves, yet it seemed that their beast used it for selfish gain.
Beast turned and looked at me and growled loudly urging my body to move faster to our destination. It kept urging me forward, jerking me making the dirt kick up from the force. My heartbeat quickened at the horrible thought that crossed my mind. Could he hear my thoughts too like Mimas could?
I waited for a moment but there was no response or indication that he heard what I had thought. At least for now I would think he could not hear my thoughts, maybe it was something only Mimas could do. It was odd for him to react that way and I did not understand what exactly it was.
Tonight, the sky was clear and the crescent moon was bright. Some wolves could be heard howling at it. I wished that it was a full moon to hear all their voices. It would be nice to try and find my parents. It had been so long since I heard their voice, I wished desperately that I could recall everything about them from memory. Yet that day was so long ago and I was so young. Now look at where I was just as things were looking up for me.
I pushed out of my thoughts when we made it to the den and my body walking inside and laid down. He followed soon after guarding the entrance, his ears on high alert. Everything in me was screaming to get away but I just could not move at all and I refused to link him. On the other hand, what choice did I have?
'How and why are you doing this to me?' I asked, linking him.
'I'm a royal, that is what we do. There is no fighting a royals command you must obey.' He stated.
'But why?' I asked gently.
'For your protection, now let me protect you.'
I tried linking him but he was not responding to me anymore, so instead I got up and walked over to him cautiously. His right ear tuned in my direction and without looking at me he responded.
'What?' He growled out.
'From what are you protecting me from? We are safe here are we not?'
The beast turned toward me his eyes aglow once again but there was no anger this time just curiosity. He tilted his head and eyed me before he responded.
'No one is safe here. There are things going on here at this place that Mimas nor you understand. I'm only protecting you and for now that means stay put.' He sounded irritated with my questions and for a moment it felt like Mimas was there talking to me.
'Will I be able to talk to him?' Hoping that he would allow me that.
'No.' He said flatly.
'But.' I began to say before he cut me off angrily turning towards me his tail high and teeth bared at me.
'No!' He screamed in the mind link rattling my head yet again making me feel weak and drained.
I showed my neck to him looking away as his anger beat down upon me wave after wave. the amount of anger he released onto me was almost crushing and it would not stop. Eventually I was pushed to the ground by it, unable to move from the force. It was like he was unleashing his full power upon me without hesitation, it was worse than him crushing me himself.
'Please.' I begged.
The power continued to flow without signs of letting up and I knew I had angered him deeply. There was only one thing I could do and it took every ounce of energy to do it. I forced my body to move and lay on my back showing the greatest form of submission. The power started to pull back and I was able to feel the weight lift off of me. He bit at my neck showing that he was the alpha which he seemed to be satisfied with my gesture.
'I'm sorry.' He stopped biting my neck and letting out a puff of air pacing along the entrance of the cave. 'I didn't mean to anger you. I only wanted reassurance from him to know I was safe.' He continued to pace along the entrance growling at me, I wasn't sure I should say the next part or not. 'For a moment that's all I ask and I will not ask again.'
Just then he let out a loud roar making some of the dirt from overhead to fall down on us. His pacing stopped and he ended up right in front of me and I remained in my submission position.
'Why do you fight against me?' He asked his anger clear.
'I don't want to fight against you, I want to work alongside you.' I stated still showing my neck and never looking him in the eye.
'Can't you see your questions are a sign of you fighting me? Not for a moment can I let him through I will lose my control and he will never allow me through.' He walked around me and I made sure to keep my eyes off him and neck shown.
'You are strong, nothing can go against you.' I tried to reason in hopes he would allow him back. 'For a moment to calm me and settle me, I promise not to fight.'
The Beast seemed to think about it having an internal battle which I hoped was Mimas trying to come through. 'No, not until this is over! I command you not to ask me anymore.'
Then I was unable to say anything about it after it no matter how I tried. My thoughts were still wanting to ask but the force would not allow me to ask. This beast was taking my freedom peace by peace.
'I cannot let him go. I must protect you from them.' He stated his ears moving in all directions.
'From who? The humans?' I asked knowing they were no match for him.
'No, those experiments.'
Then he looked out the den and there in the far distance I could see them moving fast. Wherever they were going it looked like trouble. Although they did not acknowledge us, we knew they sensed us as we sensed them.
