~Hegan~
"Yes we are on track with the weapon, until you succeed. leave my office I'm done with this conversation. Get to work. I want news in the morning."
This whole ordeal was fucking insane! How did he think that this would ever work. The nerve that he just waved us off to do the unthinkable. I gritted my teeth as I caught the smirk on Groves face, his dark soulless eyes staring me down. All I felt was boiling rage. I should have let him die when Hawke had him in the inch of his life. The door was opened and we were let out and I looked over at Dr. Pavlov Yanovich the mad scientist. There was no telling what it was that he planned next. Pavlov eyed me but said nothing he seemed to be unkempt which means he had another breakthrough. More trouble would only erupt from it. He disappeared into 'The' room I knew all too well.
Zay the motionless wolf stood staring at the secretary who seemed ready to pass out. She looked like a deer caught in the headlights until she ripped her gaze away. The woman looked in my direction, her eyes as big as saucers, it was as if she was begging me to take the beast with me. Sadly to her disappointment I only took the one I came with and her face seemed to fall. She really needed another job she was not cut out for this work at all. Her gaze then followed Groves as he headed towards the room. Whatever they had done really messed with that wolf and Groves. He gave me a sly smirk and I ignored him trying to reel in my anger before I exploded. Even Hawke let out a growl. The poor woman at the desk looked like she would bolt out the room from fear alone. Yet she had every right to be afraid there were dangerous creatures running around. Ones that could end the world.
We entered the elevator all the while Hawke was on edge. I knew that he had heard what they had said about him not being normal. It angered me that Groves had to speak in front of Hawke the way he did. Why would he even say things in front of Hawke? He would ruin all the work I put into him. Hawke probably wondered what he truly was. If he ever found out what he was capable of I would lose my edge. I trusted Hawke but as things were it was getting harder and harder to bring him back from the blood thirst. He was slowly slipping back to the primitive beast that they all were deep down. Plus with the added question of that widow Hawke was changing, right now I was not sure that was a good thing.
A part of me was afraid because if they all knew the power that they all were capable of this would all be over. Reasons being why that black wolf was such a challenge. He was different from the rest, more powerful. I knew there was a reason behind it but most of the wolves' origins were unknown to us. We were truly playing with fire but if this war could end we could finally get rid of the uprising. But at what cost to humanity?
For right now I needed to focus on gathering men and their wolves to figure out who would accompany the next mission. Ones that knew to keep their mouth shut about what they would see. Hopefully they could handle it otherwise I was sure that they would be the next products out. At this rate it was a risk to both admirals to be gone, with me and Groves gone it would be harder to keep things in line. Well Groves could never do his job and with the changes he now had it was not a good idea. There were others out there that could do the job but none were invited by Master Oklarth himself. Before it was only me and I've questioned Masters' choice in Groves. He was always the wrong choice but Master insisted.
I tried to take Hawke to his enclosure but he would not go in. If it had anything to do with what they were saying he would not disobey me. Plus I had enough of today's events.
"Hawke get in there now!" I didn't need this from him now.
Hawke growled looking off to a certain direction, the only thing I could think of was the widow. I sighed and looked at him wondering what had gotten into him. Why was he so protective of her when all he wanted to do was get away from her when they first met?
