~Hawke~

Metal chains that held her captive jingled along the floor as she shifted. They dragged along keeping her almost flush against the stone wall her movements were restrained to walking alongside it. At the wall it wore away corroded from what looked like years of traveling along it. Her ruby eyes never left mine, she seemed to stare into my soul. How did the old one know? I wanted answers but I knew I had to ask the important ones first.

'Who are you?' I asked.

'I'm Avis Protector of Skies.' Her Ruby eyes seemed to glow.

'Avis, how were you captured by these humans?'

'I was deceived by a human who sought my help and in turn used me as payment. They stole the light from me making me weak and used it for themselves.

'You are one of the most powerful dragons there are, why are you unable to escape?' Dragons held great, almost unlimited power, it was almost impossible to take them down.

'It's untouchable by me now and impossible for me to escape without my light. I could make another but as you know the Avis of the skies is pure white, I draw my strength from the sky. They only give me enough light to keep me alive, without it I am nothing and wither away.'

All light that lit up the tower did not reach Avis at all, instead the chains kept her at bay. My hackles raised in anger boiling with immense hate for all humans. They destroyed everything that they touched and took and enslaved us. What gave them the right?! Torn tattered curtains hung keeping light at bay and I ripped them all down illuminating the tower. Her wings began to flap the metal clanking loudly as they fell to the ground and she let out a triumphant snarl.

'Thank you Sirius for your help. I have been here for over 300 hundred moon cycles and this is the first time I have seen the skies. I've waited for you to come and find me.'

'How do you know me?' My confusion seemed to grow. I've never sensed her presence here.

'Does this place not seem familiar to you? I knew your mother as well as your whole entire family and this was your home before things changed.'

Just then I could see a flash of a memory, a white dragon flying in the sky and also my mother next to me. Avis must have been the dragon.

'Sirius was always a she wolf, why is it passed down to me?' I asked.

'For many generations they have passed down the Guardian power, each stronger than the last. Your mother passed it down to you her only sole heir. Your mother was a wonderful wolf and guardian, you have big shoes to fill.' The old one spoke.

Yet I could not feel any comfort from her words it seemed I was farther away from who I was. My home was no longer mine but belonged to humans. Not only was my mother killed by my Master but my home was taken as well.

'Humans are the cause of all suffering.' I said in anger.

The old one walked to the open windows stepping on the shackles that once held her captive. Her magnificent size took in every bit of light she could get.

She then spoke her eyes closed seeming serene and at peace. 'What happened all those years ago has nothing to do with humans. In fact there is more to the story than what you can see.'

'What happened all those years ago?' I asked, wanting to know more of what happened.

'That is a question for another day, and one that would take a while to answer.'

She turned away from the light now looking down at me. 'The Royal that is here grows stronger has he summoned you yet?'

'Yes that is why I am here he wanted more intel on what was going on around here.'

'Which Royal is it?'

'It is Mimas.' I respond.

'Ah, the bringer of death.' She looks off to the setting sun once again closing her eyes. 'How fitting. You must let my presence known to him. I am too weak now for him to sense me.'

'What shall I tell him of you?'

'Tell him that I gather my strength and await his command. You must go to him and await his next order. Only then will things start to be restored to its proper place and all creatures can return to their rightful homes.'

'I'll see you soon Great One.' I bow to her.

Time was not on our side. I had to go quick and report to the Royal. Things here were worse off than I thought they had to have used Avis light to make those creatures. I passed the many passages along the path opening back up and I can smell humans and a wolf.

Slowing my pace I peeked around the corner watching them as they dragged him out. they were trying to get him on some sort of table chaining to chain him down. He bucked and clawed at them killing a few of them but more came to hold him down.

"If you can not do your job how will I be able to do my own?" The man stood in a white coat balling his fist in anger. "Hurry up we need the product to be sent to the room as soon as possible." He yelled over the growls and yelling men.

One called for more reinforcements and the men came in helping to hold down the wolf. I wanted to help him but if I came out I would blow any chances of helping the rest. Those pups that cried out for their mothers and the many wolves that needed to be freed. I could not risk it as much as I wanted to.

The wolf's fight began to diminish yet he continued on fighting. More men jumped on top of him and held him down. There was no way that he would be able to get out of this he was only a beta so his strength went fast.

"Finally! I guess the task was too much for you all to get it right the first time." The man spoke again.

"Would like us to set it free and you do it yourself?" One of them turning red from the force it took to keep the wolf down. All the men grunted as the wolf tried to shake them all free but nothing worked at all. The man in the lab coat rolled his eyes but did not say anything more as the men secured the wolf in shackles. The man crawled up to the top and began injecting him with some type of liquid. The wolf howled and squirmed trying to fight him off.

"Hurry up and wheel it to the room so that we can get started. I want to make sure that it can not escape. We need extra man power, that much is certain."

The guard that helped gritted his teeth as they wheeled the wolf off down another hidden passageway. I would have followed but I knew that it was time that I got back to the Royal.

"Oh and clean that up before it starts to smell." He demanded as he followed after them.

I waited for the men to leave but a few of the guards stayed behind dragging the fallen men away. It was for the best it would be a couple less human we would have to fight later on.

When the men cleared out the door to the hidden passage was open so I decided to only peek inside. I squeezed in the slit and walked after them following their scent and sounds. There was a bright light that came from the distance and more guards came out to help. A sound something I could only imagine was something they experimented on shook the stone walls. As tempting as it was to peer in more I had to get back first and then scope it out and come back.

I sprinted towards the exit hearing footsteps come my way I could not be seen and risk everything. I slipped in through the slit and back out the way I came forgetting one huge detail. The damn wall. It's height would be impossible to climb so I would have to stay out of sight from the humans until the wall was opened. There were a few of them walking around and thankfully one was leaving and opened the wall up.

Escaping I wasted no time getting the hell out of there. The dense forest welcomed and refreshed me. Soon every wolf would feel the same.
