Chapter 16

Hunter

I had gotten to the hall early to scout the perfect place to hide, coming out of my room earlier I couldn't help but linger in front of my mates room, I could hear her soft laughter coming from within the room, it made my heart jump and her smell, wow that did things to me, not only to me but my wolf too, he was howling and pushing me to throw open the door and claim her there and then. "I don't want a mate" I muttered "yes you do, GO GET MATE, GO GET MATE" my wolf howled in my head, "give it a rest will you, your giving me a headache".

So here I was lurking in the shadows waiting for my mate to walk in, I mind linked my brother so he knew where I was. People started to arrive and the hall filled up pretty quickly, I saw Titan coming towards me "soooooooo you had to find the darkest corner of the room didn't you" he said with his hands on his hips.

"yes mom....... it's what I do, it helps me to get the lay of the land whilst not being noticed, its strategic brother" I grinned at him.

The Alpha and Luna arrived and then the doors opened and that smell hit my nose again, it was much stronger than the last time, mmmmm pears and chocolate mmmmmm, I snapped myself out of it, come on Hunter man up "MATE MATE MATE MATE" my wolf was clawing to get free. I could feel my eyes changing colour and my claws coming out.

I felt my brothers' hand on my shoulder "calm brother, calm, you will have her soon" he looked and winked at me, I just rolled my eyes.

My eyes tried to find out where the smell was coming from, suddenly I saw her, WOW she was HOT,  I felt my pants become increasingly tighter, as I looked at my mate, she had shoulder length blonde hair that was curled to perfection, she was wearing a long red dress that showed off ALL her assets and she had A LOT, my eyes roamed up and down her curvy body, there was a cheeky slit that went up way too high, "I will have to have a word with my mate about her dress sense, I don't want every male wolf after her" I muttered, "well well well, is someone getting possessive" Titan nudged me and smiled .

Again, I rolled my eyes, if I keep on doing this my eyes are going to stick. I looked at my mate again she was looking around the room, was she trying to find me, could she smell what I could smell, her eyes looked straight at me, I held my breath as she squinted, but then she just looked away. I breathed out not realising I was holding my breath.

The Alpha started his speech "Wolves of the Silvermoon Pack, thank you all for coming tonight, we have thrown this party to celebrate the return of our Beta and our Delta..." cheers went up around the room.

I was proud to be home and as the Alpha continued I couldn't take my eyes off my mate, I wasn't really paying attention to what the Alpha was saying I heard Freyja's name being mentioned, I knew she had found her mate Emily, the girl who was taken a couple of years back, I hadn't seen Freyja since yesterday when she ran off to find her mate, I saw her ahead of me with her arm around Emily's waist, both of them where smiling at each other like Cheshire cats and I also noticed the marks on both of their necks.

"well they didn't waste any time did they" Titan commented

I shrugged my shoulders "why would you wait" I looked at my brother he was staring at the red-haired girl who was stood next to my mate.

"I'm guessing that red haired girl is your mate?" I asked him whilst raising an eye brow, she was pretty enough, but nothing compared to my mate.

"she is, I don't know how to play this bro" he looked at me with worry in his eyes, I've never seen my brother like this he NEVER and I mean NEVER gets worried.

"play it cool bro, don't show an interest yet, you don't know if she senses you too, you know nothing about this girl, according to the Alpha they are different from us and they grew up in the human world"

"so" Titan looked at me and raised his eye brow questioning me.

"sooo she might not have the ability to find her mate, we don't know that do we, just don't be too full on, stand back and talk to her when theirs less people around"

"Hunter sometimes you actually make sense" Titan smiled, the Alpha was calling for him to come up on stage to take the oath, he looked at me "wish me luck", I did the whole two thumbs up smile thing, he chuckled and walked towards the stage.

I saw the red haired girls eyes grow wide, so she does know who he is, she was holding on to my mate extremely hard, a growl escaped my lips, "she's going to hurt her if she carry's on" I muttered, "why do you care, we don't need a mate remember" my wolf said using a sarcastic tone. "mind you tongue mutt" I heard a huff in my head and he FINALLY went silent.

I could see the red haired girl getting more frantic, she seemed to take a breath and then she calmed down, I could see Titan staring at her, "real smooth bro" I chuckled, he was hopeless, but I couldn't blame him, I thought to be honest he was holding it together really well.

I looked up at my brother when a loud voice was heard "NO BLOODY WAY" it came from the red haired girl both my mate and her looked around and every eye was on them, she went red, but my mate just shook it off and used the old "she's not had enough sleep" excuse, I chuckled she's a quick thinker.

The Alpha cleared his throat "well now I would like everyone to enjoy themselves and have a fantastic night" a cheer went up through the crowd.

The Luna and Emily went straight up to the red-haired girl and my mate, there was a bit of talking and then they just left, well more like stomped towards the court yard, Titan came over to me.

"what happened, where did they go" I pointed towards the court yard "they basically ran towards the court yard, right now's your chance, I will get Freyja to get hold of her mate and then you can have a little time with her, just don't smother her, she seems the type to run if you push her too hard" I nodded for confirmation from my brother that he understood what I had said.

Throughout my travels I had a knack for reading people and I was never wrong, I knew when they were going to run or fight, and she looked like a runner.

Titan huffed and walked off, I mind linked Freyja "go get your mate" she turned around, I pointed towards the glass doors at the other end of the hall, where my brother was now standing, she nodded and walked towards the courtyard.

"well it's about time we said hello to our mate" I said with a chuckle, let's have some fun.
