Epilogue

"Is everything okay?" I asked them through the phone.

Damn, It seems like our relationship has just been full of problems. Hindi ako makapaniwala na andito ako ngayun, preparing for our wedding.

Mahimbing ang kanyang tulog na sa kwarto, I left her first to plan with her family. I conspired with them because they were the ones who really forced me to do this.

I remember the first day I came here to the Philippines. I immediately went to their house. Para makita at maligawan na kaagad si Vaniza.

Marami ng nagbago sa buong paligid, pero katulad ng dati, doon parin nakatayo ang kanilang bahay. But there is this change, as there are new homes around as well.

"Kyle?" Gulat ang makita sa mukha ni Vanice. Her family immediately followed with astonishment on their faces. Seriously, hindi nila alam na darating ako ngayun?

"Yeah?" matipid akong ngumiti sa kanila, himala at nagkasama-sama silang lahat. "Good afternoon, Tito, Tita," bati ko sa kanila.

"Dude," saad ni Kieth na may karga-kargang bata na sa tingin ko ay nasa 3 or 4 years old. I'm sure he's his son too because of the same face. "Welcome back,"

Tumango lang ako sa kanya, I really want to see Vaniza, but so far nothing.

Nakaupo ako sa kanilang sofa. May nilagay naman na tsaa ang mga maids sa harapan namin.

I face Vanz and Dion who both look at me seriously. It's as if when I say something wrong, they'll fix it right away.

In the right side, do'n nakaupo sila Tita at Tito. At sa kabila sina Keith at Vanice.

Damn this! Kinabahan ako sa way ng kanilang tingin sakin. What the fuck did i do wrong?

"Ehem!" isang tikhim ni Tito ang nakapag-paingay sa paligid. He also has the attention of all of us.

"Let's get started," he said and face me. "Now Kyle, Why are you here? Explain everything so that we can understand better." putcha, kinabahan ako! Nakakabakla man pero, dumagundong ang puso ko dahil sa kaba!

Ngayun lang sila naging seryoso pagdating sa pakikipag-usap sakin. For Vaniza, I will do it.

"I-its about, V-vaniza," i said and swallowed followed. Naging interesado naman ang kanilang mukha. "I want to marry your daughter, Tito, Tita," i boldly said that I didn't care what was being said.

Matagal pa muna bago sila isa-isang nag-react. And then, I realized what I've been said. Putcha! Talagang baliw na ako!

"Are you fucking insane!" buong lakas na sigaw ni Vanice habang tumayo. Kieth was about to stop her but she just stared at it. "Nababaliw ka na Kyle! Andito ka ngayun sa pamamahay namin habang hiningi ang kamay ng kapatid ko. Nasa tamang pag-iisip ka pa ba?" nanlisik ang kanyang mata dahil sa galit.

"Vanice, sit down," saad ni Tito ngunit inilingan niya lang ito. I also wondered why Vanice didn't like me so much.

"No dad! Kasal na 'yang hayop na 'yan, pero andito siya para sabihin ang mga katagang 'yan! Doesn't he think he's going to hurt someone?"

"Excuse me?"

"YOU.STOP.TALKING!" sigaw niya.

Napapikit ako. Mukhang mahaba nga ang kailangan kong i-explain ngayun.

I stood up to get their attention. "Okay, let me just explain my side." panimula ko. Matalim ang tingin ni Vanice bago umupo. "I'm not married anymore, and about that, i'm so sorry kung hindi niyo nalaman."
