Chapter 8⛄

When Jungkook walked into his office, he never expected that he would smell a scent other than his. But with Jin being with him, he got used to the scent of rain which happened to be Jin's natural omega scent.

And oddly he felt calm and safe around it. But today he felt some musky scent, which was obviously not his or his assistant's. He knew that it was strong and it had to be an alpha's. Fear was creeping in him by having the thought of an alpha coming to his floor.

He knew that Jin would be alone in this floor, and his alpha instinct was kicking in to save the omega. He rushed to his floor through corridors, and he could see his assistant standing around his table with his back faced to his boss.

On the other side, Jin couldn't help but wonder his thoughts to what Taehyung  had just said to him.

His best friend Alpha Kim  Taehyung couldn't drop him in his office just like the other days. And so he made sure to scent his friend, since he knew that some horny alphas would back off if he scented all alpha over him.

And so Jin let his best friend to scent him. But  today he could feel the joy and happiness in his friend's scent. He couldn't leave Jin in his office since he had some part tonight at his company.

"Tonight, there's a party in our company. I am sure Jungkook would come since it's a family event related. But I want you to be there too."

Jin remembered those words and felt blush creeping on his cheeks. Why did Taehyung have to ask him to come to a party when it was related to a family event? He knew that Kims family were never fond of him. But if Taehyung had asked him to come, then Jin would go anywhere as long as his alpha was with him.

"Why are you smelling like an alpha?" Jin jumped in his place when he felt low growl coming behind him. With wide eyes, he turned around to see his Alpha boss standing in front of him with a monotone face.

He gulped by seeing Jungkook this close, and he felt the alpha's scent sour in the air. He breathed out a little and brought his hands from his chest while looking at the Alpha in eyes.

"Oh, Taehyung scented me."

"He what?" Jin was once again shocked by seeing his boss's outburst. It had been nearly three months since his joining in this company. And he loved the Jeons Enterprises although he disliked his boss.

Now he couldn't understand why his Alpha boss was crossing his boundary while asking personal questions.

"I am sorry, Mr. Jeon. But I don't think it's any of your concern." Jin said firmly making Jungkook to close his eyes.

Jungkook was in verge of growling loudly but he controlled his anger. He breathed in and out and tried to control his cool posture before looking at the omega before him.

"You work in my company, Seokjin. It will be my concern as long as your scent disturbs me. I can't allow an unmated omegas to smell like other alphas.

I was being worried about you getting harassed again by some horny alphas in the train. I apologize if you felt like I have crossed the line. You can continue the work that I have mailed you last night.

Also there will be a party tonight at Tae's company. Make sure to be ready before 7'0'clock."

"Wait, Mr. Jeon." When Jungkook was about to turn, Jin couldn't help but stop his movements. The omega felt bad for thinking about his Alpha boss crossing the line. He was looking out for his safety, but again Jin had misunderstood it. He felt embarrassed for thinking Jungkook so cheap.

"I apologize for my words. I-I am just not used to alphas being nice." Jin mumbled the last words but thankfully Jungkook heard it. He turned around to see Kim Seokjin playing with his fingers while looking at him in the eyes.

Jungkook liked how Jin was looking through his eyes even though he was feeling nervous.

"Apologies accepted, Seokjin."

Jin licked his lips and he knew that he had to explain the reason for alpha's scent on him.

"T-Tae couldn't able to drop me off today. So I was supposed to take the train. He scented me to let other alphas in the train to not to touch me. That's why I am scenting like Taehyung."

As much as Jungkook would loved to growl at the reason, he controlled his inner alpha from finding that their omega was being scented by other alpha.

"Good to know, Seokjin. I will call you if I need anything." With gritted teeth, Jungkook walked into his office room, and slammed his door behind him. He couldn't help but groan by thinking about his friend's actions.

Without wasting time, he walked to his table and picked up his phone to call the mother fucking Kim Taehyung.

"You can't just do that, Taehyung." Jungkook growled the moment he heard the phone on the other end getting picked up. To be honest, Taehyung on the other side was shocked to hear Jungkook yelling at him.

"Jungkook, U-uh hi. I am fine, thank you for asking me." Taehyung teased his friend making Jungkook to groan in annoyance.

"Why did you do this?"

"Do what?" Taehyung casually asked while letting his colleagues to get disperse from the meeting. He was busy in decorating their office for their upcoming event, and now he was getting scolded by Jungkook.

"You can't scent random omegas like that. You have a boyfriend, remember?"

Taehyung's eyes widened but soon softened by the words. Now he remembered what Jungkook was talking about. More like whom he was referring to.

Jungkook had knew that Kim Taehyung was already in love with other omega. But he was in no place to tell that to his personal assistant who was blindly in love with this alpha. Though he had tried to explain Taehyung to be low when it came to Jin, the other never seemed to understand.

"Jungkook, he is like my little brother. As an alpha I want him to be safe."

Taehyung explained himself. He had been feeling guilty for letting Jin all alone when he was in need. He didn't want the omega to feel lonely. He had always looked at Kim Seokjin as his own brother.

"W-What if he likes you and doesn't see you as his brother? Does he know that you have a boyfriend.?"

That's when Kim Taehyung got stuck with the Jin's knowledge about his relationship. He had not shared it with the omega.

"No, but I have never seen Jin like that. I have maintained my boundaries." Jungkook rolled his eyes by the oblivious answer.

"Seriously, Tae? Boundary? Which alpha brother would scent an omega brother  for his safety? I haven't heard of such stories, but thanks for being  the first ."

Taehyung groaned and sat on his comfortable chair while rubbing his temples. He knew that his best friend was right. Though he never had any intentions over Jin, he didn't think the other way around.

"What do you want me to do now?"

"Tell him and make him realize that you are just a hyung to him and not anymore of that." With that Jungkook placed the receiver and groaned lowly. His heart ached by thinking about Seokjin having a heart break soon.

But he couldn't just let the omega to fool himself over some alpha who already had a lover beside him. He turned his side, and saw the omega behind those glass walls working sincerely. He knew that he shouldn't have pressured Taehyung to expose his relationship.

But he didn't want to see Kim Seokjin to falsely grow hope by thinking that Taehyung would be his alpha in the future.

"I am sorry, Seokjin."
