09: Dream

I'm sorry I didn't notice back then, please forgive me. I was foolish and was ignorant to your cries, I wanted you to give me one more chance-

Time went still... Frozen in place as if the past, the present, and the future were nowhere to be found but they coexist at the same time.

It's this place again...

Heinly thought. He looked up and surely it was the same ash-like snow that was falling from the sky in his previous dream. He blinked and looked around to try and locate the commoner boy who fell in the hole he was digging. But he was nowhere to be seen and instead, was replaced by a different scene.

Instead of the vast waste land made of mud and ash, it was the forest where Heinly first landed unto this world. But in contrast to the dark woods he knew of, there was fire spreading from the end of the forest. It seeped and crawled, burning anything in its path leaving charred trails.

Heinly saw this image but stood still, for he knew that the flames won't hurt him. Instead he noticed two familiar figures slumped under a big shaded tree.

It was a little difficult to see because of the heat from the flames. The first person had a gunshot wound in his chest as blood formed roses around it. The body was still, slouched against the tree with its eyes closed, signifying that he was dead. His head was resting on the shoulder of the person beside him.

The second person looked like he was taller than the person who was leaning against him, he also had blood in his clothes but unlike the first person, the blood came from their slitted neck.

Heinly didn't notice at first but the two figures held hands. It looked as if they were just dozing off, but the blood in their clothes says otherwise.

Heinly couldn't make sense of this, what were these visions? Why are they being shown like this? The first vision had a boy fall into a hole. And the second vision had two dead bodies holding one another.

Just what is this...?

But unfortunately no one answered him. And he soon woke up from the dream.
