Recovering from an accident became harder than what Hans expected. He had to go through multiple tests in order to check whether or not he was fine. He's had a brain scan, bone scan, leg exercises, diet, and a multitude of questions from the doctors.

His boss and colleagues from the publishing company he worked for would also visit him sometimes. They were kind and would give out gifts and words of encouragement.

It was exhausting lying in the hospital but it was worth it, after 2 months he was fully recovered and was let go from the hospital.

When Hans went home he was greeted with the usual emptiness of his house. He turned to the altar where the photo of his parents were seen and offered a silent prayer.

What he did first was clean around the house. The place was gathering a ton of dust after being out for 2 months straight.

After he was done cleaning in the living room he went to his bedroom to clean. He looked around to find his laptop which was situated in the same table where he last left. He charged for a while before opening it, surprised by the multiple notifications it had received.

It was about the visual novel 'My Lover is a Noble'. Apparently the author, Evangel, postponed the ending but the fans weren't receiving it well since it has been 2 months since the last update.

Geez, look at all these crazy people

He scoffed at the news and was immediately reminded of his attempt to interview the author before getting hit by a truck.

That's right, I have to go through that interview.

He thought that it would be a good opportunity for Hans to ask about why the author had to postpone the visual novel.

The fans would go crazy for such news.

Hans was already thinking about money even after he just got out of the hospital.

Hans hadn't expected to be late on such an important date. Today was the day that Hans had to interview the author, Evangel.

He internally cursed as he maneuvered through different people in the train station while bumping into the passengers the entire time.

"Sorry... Oops- sorry. Excuse me, sorry -"

He tried to doge but his face planted into someone's side. He looked up to see a bewildered good-looking man that was probably nearing his thirties staring at him. Hans was embarrassed so he quickly zoomed through the crowd.

Ugh, I looked stupid, damn it.

He glanced at his phone to see a text from his co-worker.

'Don't worry Hans, you can still make it. I heard that the author was late as well'

He internally sighed in relief as he read through the text and immediately calmed down. He hadn't had any meals since he woke up nearing noon so he went to a nearby food stand and ordered 3 sandwiches before walking towards the building where the interview will happen.

---

"I'll be in your... care..."

Hans' heart thumped when he heard Daniel's words. Maybe he was sadistic or whatever, but hearing his voice muttered like that made his heart race.

He's the guy who I bumped into at the train station today.

He reached towards Daniel's hand and shook it. He was surprised by how perfect they fit together. "Take care of me as well."

Hans glanced up to meet Daniel's glistening eyes. They seemed familiar. It was like they knew each other for a very long time and had missed each other.

Daniel didn't seem to be Hans's type but somehow he couldn't help but feel attracted to Daniel. Maybe it was his energy or something.

The interview went on without a problem. Hans asked multiple questions regarding his basic profile and had maybe crossed a few lines to ease his curiosity a bit but Daniel seemed to not mind. As if he had been hoping he would ask those questions.

"Are you single?" Hans asked, smiling while a gleam shined in his eyes. The Interview was already done but he asked if he could still get some questions out of his mind.

Daniel was taken aback, he looked at Hans in surprise. Hans immediately waved his hand.

"You don't have to answer if you don't want to."

Daniel smirks. "No, I don't mind. And to answer, yes. Yes I'm single."

"Hmm..." Hans began to pretend he was writing Daniel's answer on his laptop.

"So... since you've been asking me a lot of questions, it would be fair if I get to ask some of my own since we're done with the interview about me." Daniel looked up to Hans with hopeful eyes.

Hans noticed that and inwardly grinned. "Yes, of course." He placed his laptop in his lap and closed it.

Daniel was thankful. He cleared his throat so that his smile wouldn't be noticeable. "So... Are you taken?"

"No."

"Do you think you can be in a relationship now?"

"Yes... I guess so." Hans smiled as he predicted the intention of each question.

"If so..." Daniel gulped, he couldn't afford to lose this chance. "Will you date me if I asked?"

Hans looked up in 'surprise' but inside he felt that he was ascending. He decided to be straight to the point.

"I'm free tonight. 7pm at XO restaurant." Hans smiled, leaving a card that revealed his phone number. He gathered his things and stood up, ready to leave. Not forgetting to peek at the dumbfounded look on Daniel.

Daniel couldn't fully recover from what happened. He also stood up frantically.

"Ah, yes. Sure I'll meet you there!" He said while his ears were turning red. He tried to sound serious but he couldn't help but grin from time to time.

Hans laughed lightly and left.

Maybe... my life as a journalist this time wouldn't be as short.
