"i can't sleep over tonight, my grandma's already suspicious about the whole sleeping over at jimin's story," taehyung groaned lightly.
it's been a month and taehyung had spend everyday in the hospital with jeongguk, he didn't always sleep over cause it would have been a little suspicious, but he did pretty often. apparently jeongguk needs more time than expected to heal and also needs to do physical therapy, or maybe he will never be able to walk without a limp.
the news were shocking to both boys, taehyung had cried the whole day, feeling guilty and responsible for what had happened to jeongguk. 'why did you have to save me?' he had repeated this question more than he could count.
in the end jeongguk succeeded to calm him down. but that was already a half months ago. by now, the two became best friends, enjoying each other's company more than anything else in the world.
"it's fine, but why don't you wanna tell her about me?"
taehyung sighed. "it's not because of you, once you leave the hospital i want her to meet you... but i hid the fact that i got almost run over by a car from her and she'll probably get very mad at me. rather than hearing her lashing out on me, i keep it a secret." he smiled softly.
"you should've just told her in the beginning. that's your fault," the ravenette retorted and taehyung giggled lightly. "yeah i guess." he took a sip of his canned orange juice and leaned back against the headboard of jeongguk's hospital bed.
"hyung?"
jeongguk looked at him, pressing his lips tightly together, scrunching his nose. "sounds strange," he said, smiling though when taehyung giggled. "you are the only person who ever called me that, i grew up with older people."
taehyung snorted. "for real? even i've already been called hyung," he stated proudly.
jeongguk rolled his eyes. "such a big boy you are, i'm so proud of you," he mocked and taehyung pouted.
"meanie. i won't call you hyung."
"now, that's mean. you have to."
taehyung has become more bratty by the time he had spent with jeongguk. he's not the one to blame though, it was all jeongguk's work. even namjoon and seokjin, who taehyung had also become very close with, noticed the change in the younger's attitude and also the little confidence boost.
jeongguk was really a good influence, in some way he had shown taehyung that it's okay to like boys and also to be interested in feminine stuff. he kind of taught him to just be himself, to love himself and most of all to defend himself with bratty comments, which he also sometimes regrets doing.
"mentally, i'm older."
jeongguk scoffed, tickling taehyung's sides. "dream along, dwarf."
"shut up, rabbit."
yeah, he does regret it sometimes.
"'you never go outside?' the prince froze hearing the boy's soft voice ask this question, but just shook his head. 'this is... my first time really going out.' 'your first time... i apologize for disturbing this chance for you- 'no. you made it better,' he looked to the boy too and noticed one of the brunets hair strains loosely hanging down his forehead. reaching his arm out, he brushed it from the younger's forehead, causing him to blush. 'did someone ever tell you how pretty you are?' the prince spoke, to which the boy bit down on his lip in fluster. 'thank you, you're also really handsome'"
"so like, he pretends to be a normal boy when he's outside and falls in love with the farmer's boy, who doesn't know that he is the prince," jeongguk mumbled, thinking about the book taehyung just read to him.
taehyung nodded. "the farmer's boy despises the prince of the kingdom with his whole heart though," he added.
jeongguk's lips gaped. "but he falls in love with him..."
taehyung tilted his head, putting the book aside. "that's like the whole point. he hates the royals, but due to the prince' disguise, the boy falls in love with him, not knowing he's a royal."
"he'll be mad if he finds out that he had been lied to the whole time." jeongguk frowned, a light pout on his lips. taehyung hummed. "he will. you, know later he gets a-
"no! do not spoiler me anything!" jeongguk said, clasping his hands to his ears. taehyung smiled fondly. ever since the first time he read a book to jeongguk, jeongguk asked him to do it again, as he enjoyed it a lot. he listens to every word with so much enthusiasm and concentration. he loved hearing stories read by taehyung.
it makes taehyung smile, because the ravenette hadn't even thought about picking up a book before.
"tae, it's already seven," jeongguk pointed out, looking at the screen of his phone for the time. taehyung pouted, packing a few things together. "i'm sorry, i can't stay tonight."
jeongguk laughed lightly. "you don't know how much you being here is already enough to make my day."
that made taehyung blush, but he quickly shook his head. "cheesiness doesn't suit you, jeon."
jeongguk chuckled. "true. are you going back by bus?"
"yep, i hope my grandma is at home, i forgot my keys today."
"don't worry, she probably is. it's 7pm, where should she be?"
"out with friends. playing games, sauna, massages, manicure? one of these probably." jeongguk's lips parted by the way taehyung said this with so much calmness, as if it was the most natural and casual thing.
taehyung noticed jeongguk's look and shrugged. "she lives her life to the end," he explained.
"damn, i need her life motivation," jeongguk groaned, leaning against the head board, staring up to the ceiling.
"once you're out of here, i promise to do sooo many things with you, gguk!" taehyung said, swinging his bag over one shoulder.
jeongguk chuckled. "have fun waiting 2 more months. i wouldn't be surprised if you forget about me."
taehyung pouted. "you saved my life, i won't leave you alone," he said, "see you tomorrow, i'll stop by before school."
"so early?"
"yeah, don't worry i won't wake you, just leave some snacks here." taehyung winked and jeongguk grabbed his hands, looking at him with so much gratitude while looking him straight into the eyes. "thank you, thank you, thank you! this hospital food is disgusting as fuck!"
"i bet it is." taehyung laughed, pulling his hands away from jeongguk's.
"so, see ya tomorrow rabbit."
"bye, brat." jeongguk rolled his eyes, smiled though when taehyung left his room
giggling.he really found a friend in the younger boy.
