taehyung took a deep breath as he stood in front of what is going to be his new dorm room for the next semester.

he deliberately got there a little late, too scared to be early, before his new roommate would be there. jeongguk had left him here alone, as his and his roommate hoseok's room is two floors away from taehyung's, since they're a year over them.

right now, there's a 90% chance that taehyung's roommate is already inside and probably waiting for him and it did nothing more but make the blue haired boy nervous. he never learned how to get to know new people, scared of how they will treat him if they get to know him and... his different sides. he isn't a fan of changes, you might say, rather loving how the things are here and now, because he's sure of what to expect.

with his shaking hand already placed on the door handle, he took another deep breath, before pushing down and revealing the inside of his room.

his eyes widened.

"surprise, taehyungie"

"you're almost taking the whole house with you, ayeong," seokjin chuckled as he helped the elderly woman pack her suitcases for europe.

"better too much than too less. you'll never know what you need and what you don't," she smiled.

"taehyung is really going to college now..." the purple haired male mumbled with a soft smile. ever since jeongguk saved taehyung's life when they were kids, the young boy had been just as much of a brother to him and namjoon as jeongguk. it was almost inevitable, seeing as taehyung and jeongguk spent everyday, every little minute of their freetime together.

"he grew up so fast. i still remember finding him on my doorstep, as if it was just yesterday," ayeong told, neatly folding her clothes.

seokjin smiled. "you are an angel for giving him a home."

"so are namjoon and you for giving jeongguk a family," a sad expression formed on her lips, "he cried a lot telling me about his past. he hated the orphanage."

sighing, seokjin reached out for another stack of clothes. "the orphanage he was in didn't treat their children the way they deserved and joon's parents, even if they adopted him, never really saw or treated him as their son. i think about it a lot, gguk didn't deserve to suffer this way."

"namjoon was the only one that loved him," ayeong smiled sadly. "i'm glad he had that accident on the stairs and got to meet taehyung."

seokjin tensed a little, laughed nervously. "yes, if that didn't happen, who knows if they ever got so close."

"and we wouldn't be best friends."

jin gasped. "what would've i done without you?!"

"exactly, i don't know either," ayeong giggled.

there was a small comfortable silence in the room, as they continued packing.

ayeong was the first one to break it though, "jeongguk and taehyung should date"

"definitely."

"surprise, taehyungie."

taehyung let his suitcase fall and ran into the familiar boy's arms, hugging him tight. "JIMINIE!" he squealed, smiling widely, " what are you doing here?!"

jimin chuckled, hugging his soulmate back. "studying, i guess."

taehyung let go of him, wide eyes looking at jimin. "you applied to the same college? what's with busan university?"

jimin smiled sheepishly.

"that was a lie," another voice suddenly said and taehyung turned around to see jeongguk leaning against the door frame, smiling at the soulmates. "we planned a small surprise for you," he explained.
